TENNIS AO Tennis

Playing the new mini-games are a good way to practice your timing.

Just got to wait for console patch first :noway

Am I right in thinking with current pc patch rallies are much shorter?

Plus anyone recommend good Stadium creators please?

I have some good ones I will upload with the correct logos later. Just waiting to share. They are some of the more common ones.[DOUBLEPOST=1527177868][/DOUBLEPOST]

What's your average? I have found the better I got the shorter the rallies. I average 8 or 9 shots most games.

Ross said on Twitter that there will be new stadium creation tools that will enable indoor stadiums to be created.

Yeah that's pretty exciting. Maybe that can help open the door for a Finals series at the end of a season.

Yeah thanks I have downloaded most of your players already :thumbs

Ah ok I just need to get better then :D

I think some sort of simple practice mode as part of the demo/tools on Steam would go down well - just something like a machine firing balls across the net randomly with no matches or anything; it'd help gather some feedback on things like changes to ball physics, shot mechanics and movement while giving people a little taste of what's on offer. I very much doubt people would decide not to purchase because that would be enough content for them... Look at how the DBC14 nets beta was received.

Still not liking what I'm seeing of the gameplay/physics/animation, and I'm not willing to part with £50 to give it a try in the hope it gets better but I (and many other tennis gamers) would definitely try such a demo and provide plenty of feedback. Currently many potential PC players are probably just pirating an old/unpatched version of the game in the absence of such a demo which surely paints a worse picture of the game than it deserves.

I'm glad there seems to be ongoing work towards making improvements and that you are asking to feedback, especially for important stuff like ball physics... However, if you are only asking people who were happy enough with the game in it's current state to pay £50 for it, it makes me wonder if those same people would be harsh enough with their criticism and/or whether they actually want a game that simulates tennis.

Having said that, I've seen the extensive and knowledgable feedback that many guys such as @grkrama or @blockerdave gave in the DBC beta threads over the years - I hope you are involving people as passionate about tennis in this project as the DBC beta guys are about cricket. I'd suggest talking to ITST members (doesn't have to be me), especially Elias; either by PM on the forum or on the Discord.

I have been very critical of the game and of BA/Ross, but still want to see any tennis game be as good as possible... I'll keep an eye on its progress.

it's possible to buy and refund on Steam, unless they changed it. You can play for 2 hours

I have uploaded a whole bunch of stadiums with correct sponsors. Search Llewelynf by date. Should be around 20 or so. Let me know what you think. Most of them were there I just did a whole lot of tweaks.

@mikeymerren
Is it possible to add career earnings to career? As it stands you can only see your balance but not earned money. So once you have used it to upgrade your player it goes back to 0.

That would be a welcome feature.

I guess, but then when the 2 hours is up, that's it... If there is much of a learning curve, 2 hours is only enough to get a basic grasp of the controls and mechanics.

And tbh, the current version isn't one that I'd be interested in buying anyway so I'd feel like I was wasting the 2 hours using it at the moment, when there are patches being worked on and I could spend those 2 hours on a better version in the future.

I would be more than happy to the converse with the guys on the ITST forums (if they'll have me). Also, would be happy to talk to Elias - how would I get in touch?

Great! The forums don't look particularly active these days as the Discord has pretty much replaced it for most discussion, but if you or anyone from BA posted, it would surely spark some discussion;

I suggest Elias mainly because he is the brains behind the ITST mod, that drastically improved the online gameplay in TE by changing physics and balancing player attributes. Take a look at videos on Youtube of the vanilla game versus with the mod. This guy understands how to get the most out of tennis games.

That latest patch size is strange - sometimes Steam does some weird things on the Diffs. The build quite literally fixed a crash that a few people had. That was it! sorry.
