Review Ashes Cricket 2009 Press Reviews

That's in-depth!

I can't say anything yet, but you'll be getting my review midweek. :)

We'll have the game pretty much by then...

Not our choice on the time of it.

I think in all fairness IGN, Gamespot, Eurogamer will provide the most independent reviews. It seems there are a lot of codies fanboys on PC.

The staff team here have far more experience and knowledge in what makes a good cricket game than a set of general gaming websites. We know what you want, what makes a good game, and I've been lucky enough to have had experience in how a cricket game is put together.

am actually waiting for colins and zimrahils review. they are the least biased of the lot and actually know what they are doing.

colins BLIC07 review was simply outstanding.

Btw Our stuff team has a huge knowledge about cricket than those GS Reviewers

^intersting indeed!

the only "BIG" problem however, is the way the ball travels to the slip after being edged. If thats remains there, then :noway . The game's gonna feel reckless.

Hands-on: Ashes Cricket 2009 - GamingIndians

gaming Indians's preview/review,:banana2

Sounds very very promising.

As for the previewer not being able to get a wicket in 13 overs (not taking into account the dropped catch) I find this very encouraging indeed. He has to realise he was playing the Australians on hard mode, what did he expect?

The fact that the AI bowls to the field and is consistent in line and length will be music to most peoples ears around here as the demo had many worried :)

The only thing that I would have liked to have seen were the run rate of the Aussies in those 13 overs, but he did say they left and blocked quite a lot. This is good stuff indeed.

Batting also sounds improved and by that I mean harder than the demo. Picking which ball to hit will really need patience as we can't just flail at everything by the sound of it.

Overall my anticipation level just went up a degree.

Roll on Friday :banana2

What I was most interested in though was to find out if the AI in the full game was as erratic as it was in the demo, and I?m happy to report that that is not the case. I started an Ashes Test match on Hard difficulty and batted first. On the same difficulty level in the demo, I was able to comfortably score 40-50 runs in three overs. But here, I was all out for 72 within 12 overs. Bowlers bowled a consistent line and length and, more importantly, they bowled to their field."

^ Does that in a way put some fears to bed?
