Not been performing?

So 2 centuries and a double century in the Top End Tour and average above 80 in English county cricket, including 2 CONSECUTIVE double centuries is "not really been performing"? Then what the hell is performing? Please, tell me.

Australia's problem is that they don't have any young players in their final XI.
Australia may have to turn to youth eventually.

Well it's an average of almost 20 runs less than Ramprakash managed, and he can't even get into the England team, so Jaques must be rubbish :p ;)

But seriously, I think he is a bright prospect, and when/if Hayden or Langer go through a lean spell, he will be opening up for Australia, and probably for a long time after that.

county level? wow, what depth of quality there. He made 94 on debut then a 2nd ball quacker and then some other low score. IF your going to replace GILLY or HAYDEN you must be better than that. Hussey averaged 80 in county cricket for years and years. Maybe Jaques should have to wait like Huss did.

I wouldn't imigane so. I think Ponting & Hussey will play into their late 30s and Hayden once spoke about playing into his 40s. Jaques isn't entirely young either and by the time he slots into the opening position. He'll be in his early 30s and playing the best cricket of his life. Michael Clarke, Mitchell Johnson & Shane Watson have also shown allot promise...

And from what I've seen from Shane Tait, his the sort of bowler who can rip right through a batting line up. Like in the ING cup final against NSW where Phil Jaques became a casualty of Tait's destructive bowling.

What about the Top End Tour? Completely ignoring that. I wonder why? Maybe because you are wrong.

Yeah. I can not fathom how he is not in the squad, and the likes of Johnson and Cullen, who are not good enough yet are. Tait almost single handedly won SA the ING Cup final last season. Fair effort for a bowler, because its not like bowlers can score a run a ball 150 from the top of the order.

He shouldn't of been dropped in the first place. He averaged 34 for the England series and potentially could've made a century or two. The DLF cup furthermore proved that he can still do well in the ODI arena.

Taking 5 wickets is the like making a century I guess. Dunno how much runs he went for but considering the conditions of that match and how SA were defending a low total. I'd give him 120-130.

Some of the wickets he took in the Ashes were just a mere glimpse of what his capable of.

Tait reminds me a little bit of New Zealand's Shane Bond but hopefully his body pulls up much better then Bond's has which in the end has probably ruined what could've been a very successful International career.

There was an article today at foxsports Au saying Tait has only just been able to throw the ball from the boundary line since his comeback from his shoulder injury and that hes at 80% with that. That's the reason he missed selection in the DLF cup.

Edit: Heres the article - http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,20557140-23212,00.html

Heard on the local radio that Vaughan will be playing in the annual Lilac Hill match at Perth on December 8. There is also news that he is likely if likely to play in the Boxing Day test and perhaps even the 3rd test at Perth if all goes well at the Lilac Hill match. This is very promising news for England.

Very good news indeed. If England get Vaughan back then we have our best captain available again, although our middle order selection headache will worsen.
