George Dobell: "You have failed to catch the selectors eye. You are only a substitute in the test match squad!"

Shaun Tait: "Yes, I am hugely disappointed. After failing to take a place in the One-Day International squad I thought I might have had a chance for the test match one but no, I am only a substitute. This has left me with some difficult dicisions to make."

George Dobell: "What are your plans now then?"

Shaun Tait: "I will wait for the second set of squads to be released, and if I don't make those, it's time to and play some cricket for Australia in the upcoming Johnnie Walker ICC Super Series."

Sanjay Manjrekar talks to star aussie 'Keeper bat Adam Gilchrist, who has made both the test and Odi squad for the Ashes XI.

SM: So Adam you've made it in both teams. how do u feel about it?
AG: Its great to know that i've made it into both teams. It was hard work though, and i am glad that i was chosen.

SM: You had tough competition in Jones.
AG: Yes Jones is a GREAT keeper. I just barely made it in. He has lots of Talent, but a little more with the bat, mixed with some good experiance, would make him into a keeper that people would call "Legends".

SM: What is your veiw going into this season with the ashes XI?
AG: Bat the way i naturally do, go out there and score runs. i really don't want to get out to a rash stroke. With the gloves, try not to let many opportunities go by. I missed a lot of chances against England in the ashes, i'll hope i won't do it again.

SM: Who is one person that you look forward to playing against?
AG: Well, theres a bloke from the asian XI called Cricketman93 ( :p ) A forocious bowler, faster than Lee, (trust me thats FAST) and a class tp notch batsmen compared to the likes Of tendulkar, if not the great Don Bradmen himself. he is a great batsmen and bowler, and i look forward to playing him.

SM: Nice talking to you Adam, thank you for your time.
AG: Thank You

SM: Well there you have it, Adam Gilchrist, back to you Ravi.

George Dobell: "What a rollercoaster ride! You have made the test match team!"

Shaun Tait: "Yes, my fortunes have changed. I feel sorry for Steven because he had worked so hard to get a well deserved place but then this injury rules him out. I was actually surprised to be selected over Simon Jones."

George Dobell: "Is the Johnnie Walker ICC Super Series still in your plans?"

Shaun Tait: "It would have been great to play a selection of the world's best teams, but now I have been selected I will have to leave that behind and give my place to Jason Gillespie. I have layed down my faith with this team."

"i am in both ODI and Test"
