Asia Cup 2014

If Sehwag & Gambhir are to not to be considered for the WC 2015, I'd rather have Ajinkya Rahane opening the batting. He does it for Mumbai and I definitely would not want a make-shift irregular who cannot justify his place opening the batting.

Even that number 4 spot -there are a lot of worthy players who can be 'tried' out. Pujara has to be in the thick of things. I am quite surprised when people label him as a Test specialist. Cheteswar Pujara was in fact the Man of the Series during the 2006 U-19 World Cup.

I have an eerie feeling that the 2007 world cup will be repeated for India and then we'll see some massive changes.

I would still give Kohli more time to get into the captaincy mould. After all, we couldn't expect him to be so assertive as a stand-in captain. I think if he is given the freedom, we might see some positive developments.

On the other hand, in Test Cricket, I think it's time to strip Dhoni of captaincy regardless of Kohli's performance as ODI captain. I think in Test cricket, Kohli will definitely shine, as he will bring in some much needed aggression to the field.

Ok let's get this clear first. Rahane is not a hitter. In IPL what we have seen from him is he will play normal cricket shots at the start and score runs but after powerplay when fielders go on boundary than he will just start to rotate strike so the person at the other end will start attacking. So basically he will anchor the innings. When he needs to hit big shots, he generally get out by getting caught on the boundary. Keeping him down the order is not a good move because he won't be successful there. He gets out when he is tries to break free and hit the ball. If we want to play Pujara and Rahane in the same team, they both need to bat at the top of the order and Dhoni needs to be there at the end. If Dhoni is not there at the end than we can't play both Pujara and Rahane in the same team because they won't go crazy when we need to score quickly, they will still try to go for cricketing shots. The problem is that Rohit blows so hot and cold that I don't know whether to pick him or not. If we are playing both Rahane and Pujara than Rohit has to sit out for me. I also don't know who will be our number 5 for the WC? Will it be Raydu, Raina, Yuvraj, or Rohit? We need to figure that out very quickly now because they need to have some experience at that position before the start of the WC.

Rahane
Dhawan
Kohli
Pujara
Rohit/Raydu/Raina/Yuvraj
Dhoni
Jadeja

As a radical idea why not have a system where Rahane & Dhawan open then at the 1st wicket if its Dhawan out then send in Kohli, if its Rahane send in Pujara. That way you can keep an aggressive and an anchor for as long as possible.

In essence, Rohit needs to be chucked out. Once he is out of the way, things will be simpler for Indian cricket. It baffles me as to how many chances this guy is getting at the expense of others.:(

will bangladesh screw this up again? recently they have been masters of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory and perera is still to come in.

really hacked of with BNG recently, last year things were definitely moving in the right direction and this year they seem to have taken a step back again regarding their attitude.

good that anamul has found some form though, he was one of the most dominant under 19 batsmen in the world and they need him to go someway to forfilling his potential, if they can get them playing maturely this is far and away the best batting line up they've ever had.

I foresee terrible times for us :(

Rohit Sharma's 50 against Pakistan could be really bad news. I hope that wont secure him a place for another 5 games or so. Out of which he will score another match-losing 50, and this will keep going on.

- Ultimately it will be too late to test a new opener.
- We will be stuck with Sharma for the World Cup 2015.
- There he will be clueless against the new ball and ensure that we get some of the slowest starts putting too much pressure on players who can actually bat - Dhawan, Kohli, Rahane.
- Ultimately, it all ends in a disaster

God help us is he excels in the World T20 !!

I usually don't wish ill for someone, whoever much I dislike them, but I really hope Rohit goes through an unending series of golden ducks (like Sir Agarkar). It will be embarrassing as an Indian fan, but it will be for the greater good !!

After betting scam all looks suspicious

After this scam all matches I see in suspicion.

Can't believe Media is telling Dhoni and Raina were too involved.

Azhar and Jadega ruied cricket that time, Is Team Srini-Dhoni spoiling cricket?

Both Ishant and Raina have had a poor run in the ODI's since last year. With the exclusion of Raina, chances of Pujara getting a spot in the XI have now increased, but IMO he won't be as effective in the sub-continent as he could have been outside, but the poor guy was dropped in favour of Rayudu and Raina.

I'll personally be looking forward to Afghanistan's performances. They haven't been bad in the UAE while playing the top teams, and this tournament will give a good exposure to the men from a country dominated by instability and conflict. Not expecting an upset or two, but they might just well give the opposition a run for their money.

Last time around, Bangladesh came an inch close to winning their first ever title. Will always give them a chance at their home ground. That series also saw SRT play his ODI last innings, and not forget his 100th 100.

No India didn't played well! India only defeat teams which were much weaker than them. India very rarely gives chances to new ones. Rohit Sharma has been given more them enough chances to prove his might. Pujara should have been given a chance.

I think it's a very healthy sign, if he feels his old action wasn't doing the job, then he has every right to alter it and correct it, and are you really going to claim that his old action was "original"?

Okay. I want ask you " What he has got from new action? Has he become a wicket taker even in helpful Indian pitches?" I am sorry to say that Jadeja is being more effective than him.
