Pakistan vs Bangladesh Lunch update

FreshLime ATC Edition
Welcome to FreshLime where we give you the latest news from the Asian Test Championships. And what a session we have just witnessed from current holders (?) Pakistan against the minnows Bangladesh. After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Pakistan have began a free-for-all run scoring marathon and have put up the following statistics:

[[[SCOREBOX]]]
Pakistan, 1st: 160/1 (27 overs)
Imran Farhat 117* (86)
Taufeeq Umar 18 (44)
Yasir Hameed 10* (40)
Alok Kapali 0/10

As you can see, Pakistan are running away with this match after Imran Farhat scored a blistering century from just 70 balls. He brought up his 50 in 34 balls and slowed down the pace by just 2 balls for the next fifty runs. His innings included 20 fours as the Bangladeshi bowlers were in for a pasting.

Taufeeq Umar was very circumspect towards the beginning and just as was beginning to open up, he was involved in a horrible mixup with Farhat. As Farhat stroked the ball down to long-on, two runs were easily on offer. But both Farhat and Umar hesitated at the beginning of the second run which resulted in Umar falling short of his ground at the bowler's end. Bangladesh will hope to stem the flow of runs now and attack the new batsmen, Yasir Hameed.

That's all we have for now. Thank you for joining us.

Day 1 WrapUp

UNREAL SPORTS
Sohum Misra: If Bangladeshi fans were hoping for some sort of fightback, they were to be disappointed. Pakistan build on their huge first session and century from Imran Farhat to post a huge total of 444/8 at the end of Day 1 (93 overs). They have still not declared and are perhaps looking at something around 500 runs. Batting at the crease are Shoaib Akhtar who has smashed his way to about 40 and Danish Kaneria who has been very subdued.

The Bangladeshi bowling today was all over the place as they struggled to find their line and length and were met by aggressive Pakistani batsmen. After Imran Farhat was bowled by Kapali when going for a big shot, Yousuf Youhana and Inzamam consolidated the start by putting up a 108-run 4th wicket partnership. Inzamam left on 51 but Yousuf Youhana went on to make a well-deserved century. After that the Bangladeshi's got their act together somewhat and orchestrated some good run outs from good fielding.

Pakistan seemed to have lost the plot until some unceremonious bludgeoning from the bat of Shoaib Akhtar. He took his score into the 30s in very quick time and is looking in ominous form. Our expert panel left the building around Tea, realising there was nothing new they could add here that no one else could find out-- Bangladesh are being severely outclassed.

If Shoaib Akhtar continues batting this way tomorrow, Pakistan will easily make it to 500, and Shoaib might even find his first first class century on the way. All highlights and news will come up tomorrow when (possibly) Bangladesh will have begun their first innings. Thank you for joining us for this broadcast. The scorecard is below for your perusal.

FreshLime - ATC Edition
Much of Day 2 was rained out as only about 13 overs of play was possible. Pakistan declared on 470/9 leaving Shoaib Akhtar stranded on 44 not out. He has yet to make a comment in this regard by the mean of words, but his actions sounded his feelings when the Bangladeshis went out to bat.

Shoaib struck with the second ball at an unplayable bouncer that Hannan Sarker gloved to gully. Bangladesh end the day's play at 2/1 from 3 overs. They will need to pull out something miraculous on Day 3. There will be no expert wrap-up today because of lack of play. Thank you for joining us.

Day 3, Lunch

FreshLime - Lunch Update
Bangladesh have struggled this first session, having scored 110 runs in 28 overs and losing 6 more wickets. Pakistan's pace trio struck regularly, and Bangladesh even lost 2 wickets to bad calling between the two batsmen. There score now rests at 112/7 and they are looking seriously down the barrel.

The 5th wicket partnership between Kapali and Mashud seemed to ease off some pressure as the pair put up 50 quick runs. Kapali, who got off to a nervous start, suddenly started striking boundaries by taking advantage of Pakistan's over-attacking field. He was done in by a superb Shoaib delivery that just cut in and was unplayable at 95 mph. Mashud departed in the next over, when after striking Shabbir for a boundary, he was perplexed by a slower ball.

Let's take a look at some highlights from the Pakistani innings, as we haven't been able to do that as yet.

Bangladesh still trail by 358 runs and at this stage a follow-on looks inevitable. However, with Mohammad Rafique (who has a test century to his name) and Khaled Mahmud still to come, Bangladesh may be able to ease off some pressure for their second innings. Thanks for joining us. We will meet you at the end of the day, or perhaps when Bangladesh's innings folds.

Bangladesh Folds

Bangladesh Fold
After getting off to a rickety start in the first session of the day, Bangladesh folded pretty early into the second session of the day. Although scorecards are not yet available, we can show you some highlights of the Bangladesh innings. Bangladesh were dismissed for 151, with the last 3 wickets coming within the first 5 balls of Imran Farhat's first over. The youngster's strike rate will definitely improve with these figures: 0.5-0-0-3 !

Khaled Mahmud seemed to be showing some resistance before he was trapped LBW and the next two batsmen followed suit very quickly indeed. Pakistan have enforced the follow on and with there 319-run lead, they are favorites to take 10 full points out of this encounter, with an innings victory. Bangladesh, meanwhile, are struggling to cope with the seamer friendly tracks.

Here are some highlights and we will give you the first innings scorecards as well as Bangladesh's follow-on effort at the end of the day. Unless Bangladesh bats very badly today, most spectators expect the game to finish early tomorrow morning. Thank you for joining us.

This has got to be the best story i've seen here, really well done.

Thanks for the compliments. Unfortunately I cannot play C2k4 anymore because I have been reduced to a Power User on my laptop. Grrr... However, with just two months of school remaining, I will be back and I am raring to go. Maybe I'll just wait for BLIC. :D

Haha...thanks. Perhaps in June. I think I backed up my game files and graphics so I may be able to recover it. Then I'll have 3 months just to play and write. :D Oh, I do have a life by the way.
