Navjot Sidhu: "This pitch has more cracks in it than a piece of metal undergoing severe metal fatigue and it will get even worse as the match goes on. For me this pitch is a spinners dream with a lot of movement off these cracks. However the fast bowlers will still get a lot of wickets because of the uneven bounce off the cracks. If I won the toss I would bat first grind out some runs and use my spinners to bowl the opposition out cheaply in the 4th inning. Now I'll hand you over to someone useed to grinding - no not a football manager struggling for results but Geoffry Boycott for the Toss.

Thanks. Tried copying and pasting from google images and cricinfo straight into here and it didn't work. I might try when I do the next match with major coverage - (I am thinking about only doing detailed coverage for the 4-6 best games every matchday and just posting scorecards for the rest of them) - copying and pasting it into paint and then imageshacking it.

Thanks for that idea. I think its good but I can see 3 slight problems with it. Firstly it sounds like the sort of thing you are more likely to see in one day cricket and then there's the problem of coming up with names for the teams which represent more than one letter and the teams that represent some letters or combinations not used frequently in the English Language such as the X's, Y's and Z's.

Thanks for the ideas. Hope to have the next match or two or three up tomorrow.

I think we'll nominally be backing the same team (no bias on my part however) as my last name starts with F. Thanks for that, however if your mate Freddie Flintoff doesn't start performing he could well be replaced by Damien Fleming although he will recieve a few more chances.

ICC announce cancellation of All Time Letter League

The ICC have today cancelled the All Time Letter League due to a fans survey which showed a general lack of interest in the competition due to patriotism not being aroused and a lack of one day cricket in the league. The ICC have decided to replace these teams with 7 nationally selected and 1 rest of the world all time teams to play on a circut starting off with an ODI league being hosted by Australia and New Zealand. The teams in this competition will be:

All Time Australia
All Time England
All Time India
All Time New Zealand
All Time Pakistan
All Time Rest of the World
All Time South Africa
All Time West Indies





Authors Note: Coaches are needed for the 8 all time teams. Please sign up for the country you want to coach and name your 18 man squad (Which can include people who never played ODI's) for the All Time ODI League by Sunday.
