Atul Sharma: Fastest Bowler in the world

However, apart from the yorker there was hardly anything to prove he is T20 worthy, let alone other formats. The nadir came when he lost his run up, balance and uglyly fell on the pitch.

His yorker in the warm-up game was a jaffer, he just couldn't really get his rhythm right yesterday, didn't seem to be getting the ball in the right areas, which is expected from a guy that's only 18/19 and not played professional cricket before. I think if Warne rates him highly, he's gotta have some talent. Give him time.
Maybe because the yorker he bowled was to a mediocre batsman? He bowled the same exact delivery to Virat Kohli last night and he dug it out easily.

Just some kid with a unique action, doesn't mean his the next big thing in world cricket. If anything, the IPL will ruin his International chances because batsman will adapt to playing his action and get used to it and his unique'ness will wear off and he'll be nothing more then first-class bowler for the rest of his career. Look where Lasith Malinga is at now. Can't even make the Sri Lanka team and they don't exactly have the strongest first-class system in world cricket.

You do realise that Warne saw this kid bowl 2 balls before selecting him, right?

His first over was all dot balls bar 1 wide, including that cracking yorker. Yesterday the lad was clearly nervous. Most people would be incredibly nervous, bowling their first professional over to batsmen of Pietersen and Dravid's ilk. Give the lad a chance ffs, writing him off after 1 game and one slightly below par performance, incredibly harsh.

No, it is not harsh. It is commonsense. The kid might come good at a later point of time. But as of now, he is nothing but rubbish in my opinion.

Oh and that dodgy action? I expect him to be called by umpires sooner than later.

Writing off an 18 year old genuinely quick left armer with a cracking yorker who's had just 1 dissappointing game, bowling to 2 of the best batsmen in the world is incredibly harsh.

The action's not that dodgy either tbh, just hyper-extension of the elbow which quite a few bowlers have. Umpires are reluctant to call no balls for chucking as well, he'll just be reported and need to be checked out if they think he's chucking. It's the strain on his back I'd be more worried about, for a slim guy he puts tremendous strain on his back, so he'll either need to bulk up or his career won't last long.

really?how come he didn't play yet?shaun tait will not play this season and atul sharma is a quickie and bowls about 140-145 kmph but definitely not 165kmph.i saw him bowl in a domestic match in deodhar trophy.some of these meters aren't standard.jerome taylor bowled a 156 kmph delivery in the recent seris against pakistan.

Atul Sharma hasn't ever played a domestic match so that wasn't him you were seeing. Plus he's been clocked at the aforementioned speeds in English nets I believe.

Or he just isn't paticularly good.
If he wasn't particularly good then players such as Kaif wouldn't be sent home before him. If the Royals wanted to retain a pace bowler, I'm sure they'd have preferred someone with domestic experience to a complete rookie who wasn't particularly good.

Malinga has been seriously injured for 9 months. he will, without doubt, be back in the sri lankan setup when he's fully recovered. he was pretty outstanding in his last ipl outing. 3/15 from his 4 overs, basically won the game for mumbai.

Kamran Khan looks occasionally dodgy to me, and other times it just seems to be hyper extension.

His action is a mess, but he might do ok, stranger things have happened.
