time to play with the big boys

after the disasteris tour of the sub contenent it is now painfully clear NZ are an aging force in odi cricket an a changing of the guard espes in the bowling ranks r needed so we can defend totels of 230/240.
but with domestic cricket not being the hardest of series in the world maybe with the bigbash turning into a league maybe we could cash in to.
After countless talks around the smoko table with fellow expat kiwis ( we in aus ) we fell the solution is to join 3 teams in the big bash league.
while still playing our hrv cup mayb two weeks earlyer so we dont over lap we then brake into 3 super 15 style teams auk/nd cd/well and otago/canterbury.
a squad of 16 with two imports is then picked to take on the bigbash teams and open up some much needed exposure to our domestic players.
Our onedayers and 4day comp continue as normal.
the whole draw of aussie teams hitting our shores with big name players will bring the crowds and produce more talent

a way for players who do not get contracts in the north hemisphere over winter to carry on growing and spread the cricket word to the darwins townsvilles alicesprings would be to create a winter league.
6 or so teams can be formed with players from local clubs aus nz sa and evan small cricket playing nations evan the non test playing ones being involved.
20/20 4day and onedayers ( the full 50 over format ) could be played over these months increasing player talent and depth and building stronger cricket depth around not only aus but around the world. evan through in a pacific team or to and png hongkong malaysa and all of a suden u have a truly viable northen league.
give it a couple of years and these teams will be signing high profile players as the comp will be a highly viable tournment by then.
