i saw Crosthwaite facing Adam Griffith in an ING game and he looked all at sea...trapped plumb in front 1st ball.

I don't think you can sufficiently rate how good a batsman is by one ball that they've faced.

Do you guys really think Usman Khwaja will ever represent Australia at ODI or Test level...?

Mate, he's pretty young and he's come a hell of a long way from where he was a few years back which tells us of his resilience, but you obviously can't make those sort of assessments on players. He's got plenty of talent though.

If he does, I'm sure all the Aussies who have a go at England for picking players born outside England will have a go at the Australian selectors for picking him. They wouldn't want to look like hypocrites would they? ;)

Hes from NSW iirc so he is a chance :) There are a number of good openers coming up so he will be in for a tough battle.

i still cant believe that Crosthwaite was picked ahead of Hartley and Ronchi as the squad's keeper...that is bizarre.

Also the fact that Finch got picked ahead of Henriques

The squad's fast bowlers are all impressive though...

Brett Dorey - 203cm giant
Ben Edmondson - promising quick
Ben Hilfenhaus - classy swing bowler
Doug Bollinger - tall, pacy left armer

:D

I've picked two of those pacemen :) Edmondson and Bollinger both a year ago. :D Good to see I can pick the talent hopefully they can go on now.

Off Topic: What exactly does iirc mean? I've never really paid much attention to msn (it sucks in my opinion, even though most other kids seem to like it) and as a result haven't really become familiar with internet talk...
Anyway, Kuwaja's a massive prospect, has performed in Grade cricket the last few years after a harsh start and has shown that he's got the heart.
But as mentioned, I still can't understand why Henriques wasn't selected, also Ronchi or Hartley, very strange.

"If I remember correctly" learnt that only this year myself :)
NSW has a number of good young batters that didn't get a run this year. They seemed to be batting all over the place in grade cricket. Hopefully we will see some of them when the next Pura cup stats.

Yep I agree, and that's a brilliant sign as NSW blooded 10 new players this year (I think), which indicates the wealth of talent we have. And with Stuart Clark/Bracken probably and possibly on international duties next season, players like Bird, Bollinger and Lambert will get a decent run in the bowling department. Nicholson may not be back either which will allow for more development.

Tait, Cosgrove and Cullen are the ones to watch in the short term these guys will play for Australian in then year or two
