Australia (A) tour to of Zimbabwe & South Africa

Wait, so from what i'm gathering is that Hughes, Watson, Rogers, Warner, Cowan have their highest averages opening...

Something like that...and 4 of them are left handers so if they head down the order they are absolute shark bait for Swann. :facepalm

And to get back a bit on track...Fawad Ahmed conceded a lot of runs in that innings: 3/177 in 42 overs, only 5 maidens. Being able to keep a batsman on strike to work him over is a core skill for a spinner. We'll see how he goes in future, but he's not exactly banging the door down to the Aussie side right now.

many of you dont realise that Cowan is one of the most important guys in your team ( Im an indian ) . only he , Clarke and Smith have the capacity to NOT GET OUT and stay in the crease . i'd say Rogers and Cowan as a opening pair is better for OZ-land than Watson-Rogers cause you never know when Watto is gonna get out . at least Rogers-Cowan can play out the first 20-odd overs with a steady rate of 2.5-3 runs per over which would roughly mean 50 runs . im pretty sure Boof will like 50 run opening partnership than 20-30 runs opening partnership . and im sure Rogers once set will sure make a 50+ score and Cowan too you can count to make some 40 - 90 runs once set .

He averages 40 now, that's a hell of a good off season. Previously averaging 34. 28% of his career runs in 4 games. And let's face it, everyone wants to see a prospective international who is comfortable away from home. The power of pocket toasties is obvious.

Those 2 knocks will help with the points in this article. Of the young lefties he is probably the most confident against spin but that also means he does look silly when he gets out to them.

We bring in Maddinson, what if turns out to be another inexperienced, hyped, pressurised, dodgy left hander batsman?

Warner, Cowan, Hughes, Khawaja. We don't want him to join that team. Even though Warner is edging his way beyond that.

Is there a reason why Burns isn't on this damn tour?

Is that the same 'Burns' that was playing for Leicestershire in England?

If so then I think he got injured a few weeks ago and returned to Australia.

Yup Joe Burns got injured (Hip Injury) :)
