Australia in South Africa Oct-Nov 2011/12

His selection depends whether Australia wants to take another hit and miss bowler into a Test. For me, Siddle's a good bowler when you're losing a series as he might just bring that spark that you need - otherwise I think he's too much of a risk. I'd rather Copeland's steadiness.

Sadly I'm pretty sure the selectors will pick Siddle. If it is the case then I just hope he gets the consistency into his game as we can't keep going down this path of having 2 inconsistent bowlers in the side with a new spinner.

Surely we could have put in another Test. Take out that match against SA A and replace it with SA and add 1 day and we have a 3 Test match series. Just been a long wait between the last ODI and the first Test.

Shaun Marsh could prove a winner for Australia, punters alike during the series in South Africa.

Siddle and Hilfenhaus are the main guys in that category. It was so obvious especially for Siddle in deciding where to pitch. He started the Ashes with a bang by pitching it full then for whatever reason abandoned that and with it went his wickets. Hilfy just never learnt which is strange as he is a swing bowler so he shouldn't be on the back of the length anyway.

Should be an interesting series, its really a shame about only 2 tests. Really couldn't have forced the nationals players to play international cricket instead of cl t20??;)

SA side should look like this.
1.Smith
2.Rudolph
3.Amla
4.Kallis
5.AB
6.Prince
7.Boucher
8.Steyn
9.Morkel
10.Tahir
11.Tsotsobe

Overall happy with the side, only one I would change is mcclaren or de wet for lopsy but that's what it is. The selectors just better not pull a harris for tahir tomorrow.:mad

It's the standard black guy policy that South African cricket and rugby has had for like the last 15 years.

SA fans will be happy no Tsotsobe. As expected Siddle wins the 3rd seamer spot so over to hoping for the best.

Fans of fast bowling better start watching this. No better sight in WC than Steyn steaming in with a shiny new ball in bowling friendly conditions.

Philander is really hitting the avenue of apprehension

but when he drops short it's not good enough. it shows how little pace there is in the wicket at the moment. if the movement dies down then it should be pretty safe for the batmen.
