Australia tour of Pakistan - March/April 2022

Completely disagree with you. I love when test matches get to the end of the final day and all three results look plausible.

Before Babar got out there was still a chance Pakistan could've played for the win. After Babar and Faheem got out, Pakistan was in pure survival mode and Australia was looking for the kill.

This is exactly why test cricket is so great
I think he means the match as a whole and not just the last day. I think there couldn't have been a better end to that game. But if we go back and look the the previous 4 days, it was just a snooze fest. I wouldn't want to see any team score 500 in 2 days and the opposition capitulate on 100-odd.

I watched the first day, most of the second day and the fourth and fifth day.

I didn't get a chance to watch the match on the third day which was when the most wickets fell.

And even without that I don't think I was bored for a single minute. Where there moments when nothing was happening out there with the batters and the bowlers? Sure, but that's just test cricket.

The first test in pindi I would say was a boring match, but I disagree that this test was a snoozefest. I enjoyed watching Australia bat in the first innings and put up a huge total, I didn't get a chance to see Pakistan bat their first innings but from what I read there was a ton of reverse swing on offer and they had no idea how to play it. Australia deciding to not allow the follow on which was a controversial decision and declaring after losing two wickets.

Then came and went the Imam and Azhar the hero's of the first test and no one thought there was a chance Pakistan could draw this and to come back from that, I think that is why I love test cricket more than any other format

10+overs left with 3 wickets in hand, and a brilliant atmosphere at NSK!

That's why Test cricket = Best cricket!

Pakistan had no chance of winning the game. If this is your version of a great pitch I don't have much to say. How many wickets fell in this test minus run outs and those where Oz were going hammer and tongs to declare?

Wanted to ask my friends here- Why is the chairman of the board giving us a match summary after every game? Ludicrous.

Can we expect Yasir Shah back then?
He’s not even the squad, he’s in the reserves. Ever since leaving UAE, he’s fallen off a cliff, even in domestic cricket. Zahid Mahmood is the third spinner in the squad, leggie as well, played a T20I vs SA last year in Lahore.

Where did I say it was a great pitch. I just said it was an entertaining match.

Pakistan had no chance of winning the game
I wouldn't say no chance. There's always a chance, and especially when Babar and Rizwan were batting. They had gotten to 130 required off 22 overs or something like that with 6 wickets in hand. If that's not a chase able total I don't know what is. Now it was a fifth day pitch with the new ball that was just due so was it 100% chance Pakistan could win no, but all I said it there was a possibility they could win and that's what makes an exciting match when your team is so close that you can start imagining them winning.

Everyone has access to the Internet, and if he wants to give his summary and opinions that's his business, if that stuff bothers you, you can just choose to ignore it, it's not that difficult to avoid things on the internet. Life is too short as it is, watch the things that make you happy and listen to the people you want to listen to

I have no issue with him running a private account, but he’s known as a micromanager, a know-it-all, and that’s really annoying and counterproductive at best.

No I am not one of those people who choose to ignore things. I like to call a spade a spade and I am opinionated and I like to keep it that way. I have no issue if Raja Sahab wants to ramble on. He needs to do it on his own account and not Pakistan cricket. I just unsubscribed today because they were uploading too many things and the bells were going crazy on my phone.

Also, I have not seen one address from his side on the women's World Cup or at least not get 10% the traction these test matches are getting. It's about Pakistan cricket. Not just the men. The women are playing the biggest tournament.

It is simply non advisable for a chairman of a cricket board to come out and offer a 'broadcast review' or an 'opinion piece' after every game. it's bad enough for a captain/management in the sub continent to have cricketing discussions with admins in private but to do it in public domain is absolutely preposterous. I thought his conduct after NZ absconded was great as was his bombastic approach to inject some passion and nationalism almost in the cricketing fraternity but this is all bananas. And just as a piece of advise to you (I'm guessing I'm quite a bit older than you)- ignoring things is the easiest thing to do.

I agree. I still feel, him as the president of the board needs him to do the administrative stuff not this broadcast nonsense. Cricket teams have rough patches and I shudder to think the filth he's going to spew when that time comes. I have seen it for two decades in the comm box.

I'm 31 :cheers

I would rather watch and listen to things that interest me and just choose to ignore people and things that annoy me. It used to be very difficult for me to ignore those things when I was younger and I used to get angry a lot, but since I've chosen to ignore those things I find myself happier and the people around be are happier too.

To each there own

I agree.

Just saying the board president shouldn't be handing out cricket lessons so reg.

I really enjoyed the game! I watched my fav team play live in a stadium, I watched Babar scoring runs for fun :')
Day 1, 2 & 5 were fantastic, Day 3 was okay!
I found a new song that is actually fantastic, PCB blasted it throughout the match

Hopefully we will get more games at NSK in the future :)

Same in Pindi, but I already knew it before :D
By the way, you understand Punjabi?

Brilliant batting from Babar and Rizwan. I really like the spunk from Rizwan. Reminds me of the old Pakistani teams of the 1990s where the entire team used to contribute in some manner or the other. I hope for the betterment of cricket in Pakistan that Rizwan is persisted with for a long time and not dropped (in the event he has a bad series or two)

That said, I would have been happier had they gone after the target. With the 2 set batsmen, they had a very good chance of taking on the Aussies and a shot at history. Perhaps, they wanted to ensure that they get away with a draw rather than a loss. Still, I'd take a close loss any day over a draw.

Ramiz did make a mention of a potential PSL. Also, do note that emotions will be running high as they are hosting Australia for the first time since 1998. Ever since that infamous tour of Sri Lanka, they have only been visited by the weaker teams. Australia is possibly the creme de la creme/ pinncale of his administrative career. Spare him a bit!

I see no harm in this. Traditionally, cricket admins in the subcontinent have been old timers of the board/ politicians. He comes from a background of broadcasting(plus playing). I agree with @ahmedleo414 on the watching/ listening/ ignoring to things. This is just an example of the same. I dont think we need to read too much into Ramiz's conduct unless it really starts bothering world cricket as a whole.

Baffling decision by Cummins to bowl Swepson and even Marnus for an over, instead of himself and Starc. The light was not an issue at all, and the pacers could’ve easily castled the tailenders.
