It's a joke to blame him only. 100% Smith and Lehmann are in on this!

Massive shame about Bancroft. Was finally showing signs of adapting to international cricket technically and mentally only to do something stupid like this. Not fully convinced he was carrying out instructions, leaning more towards the "heat of the moment" angle given how intense this series has been. Either way, he's probably facing a 2 match ban (tests) and a hefty fine at the very least.

Absolutely ridiculous to see another incident of ball tampering occurring. Bancroft would definitely get some credit for this, but this is clearly some sort of a plan.
Lehmann and Smith are definitely on this.

Espacially with the presence of 12th man Pete Handscomb who gave instructions through a walkie tackie, the presence of the staff is strong in this.

100% of the blame will not go on Bancroft, and with Aussies not willing to do interviews today this only reinforces the coach and captain's role in this. They've used Bancroft to some degree.

Heat of the moment idea to take sandpaper onto a cricket field? Good luck with that one. Lehmann and possibly Smith too are going to get hit hard for this. The rest of the team were probably in on it too, but apart from whoever took the message to Bancroft (not sure who it was), you probably can't prove that. Coach and captain are definitely in on it though. It gets worse every time I watch it too. This was clearly planned beforehand.

Australia's players and management are refusing to do any TV interviews at the close of play, incidentally, which goes to show how seriously this is escalating.

Lol, cheaters always stay cheaters. Smith and his team act like absolute bully. When people reverse the same thing on them they act like Saints. Faf was banned for a match and so should be Smith and Bancroft. Absolute bullies and disgusting team this is. I love how some Australian fans call everything "heat of the moment" or "brain fade." The correct word is "CHEATS." I had long said that the 'brain fade' episode was a well planned plot. Smith got away with it and that's given him the guts to do this now. It's laughable to see the Aussies! Their cricketers have been given a solid dose of hostility like all cricketers get when they visit Australia and it's quite clear that they can't keep their wits about them. If Faf was pulled up for ball tampering in Australia, this is a far far more serious offence with clear cut evidence. Only an absolute brain dead person would allocate blame on Bancroft alone for this. As most people and pundits are saying, the captain and coach are in on this and if they claim not to be then they should be fired for not being able to police their lot.

What's even worse is that these cricketers bring bad repute to a great country like Australia! One day an Australian cricketer will stab someone on the field and their supporters will say "oh, it was an impulsive thing to do.. we all have our bad moments and he's human after all."

Unfortunately Ball Tampering is a level 2 offence and the maximum penalty is 1 game ban and 25%-50% of match fee. In my opinion it should be a whole lot more for that.
