Australia Under 28's

Wow thats the first time i saw that i though he was way older , hes been on the scene for so long , so theres lots of time for him to improve :)

I think he is the youngest RSA captain....

Heard some interesting comments this arvo from a former Aussie spinner who think Australia will be like the West Indies in 5 years time, because they have no youngsters and all the fringe players are over 30.

So i'm making an Australian under 28's team to prove we'll be alright

In no particular batting order.

Michael Clarke
Adam Voges
Luke Pomersbach
George Bailey
Cameron White
Luke Ronchi
Andrew McDonald
Peter Siddle
Doug Bollinger
Shaun Tait
Ben Hilfenhaus

Must also mention Phil Hughes, who at 19 already has a first class average of 43, and has done well in the one dayers aswell. In 5 years time he could very well be playing for Australia.
For the record, Mitchell Johnson is only 26, same as Clarke, but Voges turns 29 this year, and though Ronchi is 26, by the time Haddin retires he will be a bit old for me.

To add to that list, Matthew Wade is a very promising keeper-batsman, and Tim Paine is probably a future opener and also can keep. Noticing your lack of decent spinners (White will never count, he is a batsman who can bowl much like Symonds) there is Cullen, Bailey, Hauritz (27) Doran (OK he sucks now, but he showed some potential earlier)

And as much as I hate how overrated he is, there is also Moises Henriques, another young promising all-rounder.

I definitely think that we need to start breeding these youngsters in One Day cricket, and Darren Berry was right (though typically biased for Victoria) when he said not just that Siddle should go on the West Indies tour, but his message goes deeper. We need more youngsters travelling on tours and getting ODI and Twenty20 games for the national side.

We are not going to suddenly drop off the face of cricket, and whilst we are probably not going to be as dominant as we once were in the future, I firmly believe that we can still be the best in the world with our youngsters.

I will say right now, on the 29th of January 2008 that Australia will win the 2011 World Cup.

Let's hope that we can dig this up when we do.

I must say guys, we have absolutely no test and limited overs spinners after MacGill and Hogg respectively. If you look at the records of Cullen, Heal etc, they are not very good. Australian cricket is in a massive rut in terms of spin bowling and in my opinion will become like South Africa, with some decent fast bowlers but no quality spinners.

Johnson isn't on the list because I don't think he is good enough.

Although he is NOWHERE near it at the moment and neads to get alot fitter, Mark Cosgrove still has bucketloads of talent, and is still pretty young.

In all honesty, Dan Cullen was worth his pile of wickets when he started. His loop and bite off the pitch was exciting to watch and that is where the hype came from. Where he went downhill, I do not know, but the ability is surely still there, if only latently.

How old is James Hopps. Hes a honest cricketer and whats good for him the captain backs him.

Hopes is 29.

A few years back our future spin wasn't looking too bad with Cullen and Casson in good nick and then came Bailey. We all know the story now though. Our problem is most of our spinners aren't even making the state side so aren't able to develop. NSW for one need to stick with Casson, WA should stick with Heal and SA with either Bailey or Cullen.

In all honesty i'm surprised none of you have mentioned Shaun Marsh. He's definetly a future Australian player. I hope Cosgrove gets physically fit cause he's a good batsman.

Well its time you traded one fast bowler with one spinner with India. :)

A.Morkel 26 years old alot older than i though but hes a good player, im just disapointed that he is consider more than a Bowling All rounder rather than a batting all rounder because hes a better batsman .

I personally think an England under 28's team is more impressive:

Alastair Cook
Joe Denly/Billy Godleman
Ian Bell
Kevin Pietersen (C)
James Hildreth
Ravi Bopara
Steve Davies/Phil Mustard (WK)
Adil Rashid
Stuart Broad/Luke Wright
James Anderson
Graeme Onions/Liam Plunkett/Chris Tremlett/Monty Panesar

I think that's a team that'd challenge any and it's a team that in my view would beat the Aussie team mentioned in the first page. Most of the players mentioned have shown that they can play international cricket. Not all have exceeded massively, but most have shown a good sense of what they can do. Only Rashid, Onions, Davies, Hildreth (was a sub fielder in 2005 Ashes) and Denly are yet to play International cricket, so England have a real good chance of significantly closing the gap on Australia, and will have a top, top side in a few years.

India's U-28 rules.

Yuvi
Dhoni
Raina
Sreesanth
RP
Ishant Sharma
Chawla
Pathan
Uthappa
Tiwary
Bandarith
Rohit Sharma

Off the top of my head. Watch out for these guys to be the next dominant team.
