Australian Domestic Cricket

SA trying to buy a KFC Big Bash. Would much rather it be kept as a domestic tournament rather than a who can spend the most money competition. Anyway hes here now so can't wait to see how he goes against NSW.

True, it would be nice if the domestic competitions stayed exactly that.

Kieron Pollard signed by South Australia... coup of the season

What a coup pulled off by South Australia. First Afridi, now Pollard. Two of the biggest hitters in the game will now be playing for them. I, for one, believe South Australia are gonna be the team to beat in the Australian domestic season and also the Champions League '10 :)

I hope Tassie come second (or first) in the Big Bash so we can play in the Champions league.

NSW are now going for Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik. Seriously they seem to have no faith in Dan, he did a pretty good job in the Champions League. No idea why we are going for Sharma, would prefer letting an Aussie youngster get a game.

South Australia has robbed Pollard and Afridi  :(

WORLD CHAMPIONS added 1 Minutes and 42 Seconds later...

Instead of them, we should go for Pujara. On the other hand, do we really need internationals ??

We definitely don't need an international. At full strength our side could be
Hughes
Warner
Clarke
Watson
Katich
Henriques
Haddin
Lee
Hauritz
Clark
Bracken

Reserves: Jaques, Rorher, Thornely, Steven Smith, Bollinger, Bird, Daniel Smith, Adam Crosthwaite, James Crosthwaite, Starc, Cameron, Cockley

Yes, we don't need any internationals. We have enough firepower ;)

NSW finally kick off their season.

New South Wales: Simon Katich (c), Stuart Clark, Burt Cockley, Phil Hughes, Brad Haddin, Stephen O'Keefe, Phil Jaques, Ben Rohrer, Mitchell Starc, Steve Smith, Dominic Thornely, David Warner (12th man to be named).

Western Australia: Marcus North (c), David Bandy, Liam Davis, Brett Dorey, Theo Doropoulos, Jake Fawcett, Michael Hogan, Brad Knowles, Ashley Noffke, Wes Robinson, Luke Ronchi, Luke Towers (12th man to be named).

The surprise for NSW is no Bird. Seems they don't have confidence in his new action. Looking at that team a batter (Thornely/Rorher) could miss out as I can't see Katich wanting to bowl Thornely or some other part timer.

And the Shield squad

Phillip Hughes, Phil Jaques, Simon Katich (capt), Dominic Thornely, Brad Haddin (wk), Ben Rohrer, Usman Khawaja, Steven Smith, Beau Casson, Stuart Clark, Mitch Starc, Burt Cockley.

On an ideal day, the Phil Hughes/Jaques opening partnership would be really awesome, better than a Katich(slow)/Watson(all-rounder).

If we ever are full strength Hughes and Jaques will be the openers according to the reports from the NSW camp. Katich is definitely seen as a 3 and Watson a 4 by NSW.

Wow just saw the score of Tassie v Queensland, how on earth did they lose from there. When I left Butterworth and Bailey were in a big partnership. Rimmington went really well and Walter had another impressive game in only his 2nd OD game.
