Australian Domestic Cricket

Can't believe how well the Redbacks have done this Twenty20 season. They'll beat us for sure with all the outs we have now.

They're definitely the favourites. Especially with the home ground advantage.

Same can't wait to see Khawaja back in his best format and I wouldn't mind seeing Steven Smith get some runs to enhance his chances of replacing North.

Yeah Stevie Smith has been going alright in the shield this season. If he can click down the order and become a real vital all rounder it'll help our chances of making the final.

I assume Afridi isn't playing tommorow in the final? If he's not then the Vics will win easily.

Back to the real thing on Australia Day.

NSW v South Aus at Wollongong
Jan 26 (10:00 local, 23:00 GMT)

And the first Shield game back is on the 29th between Tasmania and Victoria at Bellerive Oval, after the two teams meet for a 50 over encounter on the 27th.

NSW squad

Simon KATICH (Captain)
Nathan BRACKEN
Moises HENRIQUES
Phillip HUGHES
Phillip JAQUES
Usman KHAWAJA
Grant LAMBERT
Ben ROHRER
Daniel SMITH
Steven SMITH
Mitchell STARC
David WARNER

Rorher probably will miss out unless they had enough of Jaques in the shorter format. Even with Bracken back we only have 2 specialist bowlers.

I would say Bracken is still a great ODI bowler, he isnt ready for retirement yet, he has shown himself to be awesome over the years without getting the headlines.

It's not McKay he has to get in front of its Siddle. And with Johnson and Bollinger all but certain to be our main attack, 3 lefties would be unheard of.

Hilfy didnt have a great ODI career before he got injured, so he is not first picked when he is recovered. As far as the test team is concerned, he surely will replace Siddle, cant fit em all in and NZ conditions will suit him. Then he's off to England again to play Pakistan in two tests and a one day series v England, so all conditions should really benefit him.
