Australian Domestic Cricket

I think it's just first-class cricket he's retired from. He will find it hard to get into the NSW side in any format if all the fast bowlers are fit, and he's got a really, really bad action, so maybe he's just cutting his losses.

There is a piece in today's paper about Shane Harwood missing out on a round one contract for the Vics. Poor guy, was going ok until he needed a shoulder reconstruction a few months ago. At 36 he is unlikely to play much FC cricket, but would get a game in the T20 stuff.

Was never effective in FC, and he'll probably struggle to make the side in the other two formats. Too many slower balls seems to have ruined his career. We could use another speedster, they seem to be drying up a bit with no new Lee/Tait on the radar atm.

There aren't too many genuine speedsters in international cricket at the moment so it shouldn't be an issue for Australia. Besides, we've got a fair number of bowlers that can bowl 140 km/h plus consistently as well as get some movement with the ball.

The 140km/h are good but I always like having that x-factor bowler which we have been spoilt for choice in the last decade with Lee, Williams, Tait and now Johnson and Nannes.

Dan Cullen along with Mark Cosgrove have been sacked from SA, both their careers have taken a massive nose dive since their debut for Australia, Cosgrove at least was solid, Cullen couldn't even get a game.

Cosgrove has always managed in spite of his problems, but as Jamie Cox attested to, Cullen went the way of Panesar, losing what was good about his bowling while searching for variations.

Big Cullen fan here, hope he gets a go somewhere else that knows how to captain a spinner, maybe Perth is the place. Wickets here just dont turn anymore for a finger spinner, McGain gets so many wickets with his leggies. Dan's bowling is high class, he's still young enough to get his chance again.

Casson did alright at WA, so Cullen might go alright there. Queensland have Boyce and Floros so he'll be stuck again there and NSW is flooded. Tassie slight chance but again has to fight against Krezja and Dotherty.

NSW contract

Nathan Bracken, Mark Cameron, Beau Casson, Stuart Clark, Burt Cockley, Trent Copeland, Peter Forrest, Josh Hazlewood, Moises Henriques, Phil Jaques, Usman Khawaja, Peter Nevill, Stephen O'Keefe, Ben Rohrer, Daniel Smith, Mitchell Starc, David Warner, Tillakaratne Dilshan (Twenty20 contract). Rookie contracts: Tim Armstrong, Luke Doran, Nic Maddinson, Joe Mennie, Timm Van Der Gugten, Adam Zampa.

Ridicolous amount of fast bowlers with Clark, Bracken, Cameron, Cockley, Starc, Hazelwood, Copeland and I think Lee is still there.

Players dropped Glen Batticciotto, Daniel Doran, Nick Kruger, Greg Moller and Grant Sullivan

Yep. You know what they saw once NSW's talent is strong - Australia is strong.

Interesting, never heard of an Aussie going to play in the Bangladesh domestic system. But good thinking, he gets use to the sub-cont wickets and gets some match practice.
