Australian Domestic Cricket

It's the same old for Henriques, hes got the potential to be an awesome batsmen with very handy bowling. His bowling is too risky for T20, it's alright for the Shield but he needs to get in for his batting. Coyte might go better in the longer format off his long run up but he way behind in the bowling queue. One thing for certain neither should be bowling in T20.

SA and their 3 spinners certainly will be tough to beat. And NSW will have all their Internationals back so it should be a good year for the Aussie teams.

Can't go past a full strength NSW.

Then you have Clarke, Katich, Jaques, Maddinson, Cummins, Hazlewood, Starc, Hauritz. Just picking their 15 will be tough enough, spoilt for choice.

Yep those selectors are going to have a tough time picking both the 11 and 15. Katich is pretty good in this format and was excellent in the last Champions League so he'll probably get in there assuming hes right from his injury.

I think your all being a bit hard on NSW, they did well to make it to the final. You have to remember they have got alot of players out either through injury or on national duty, thats why you have Coyte in the side. As for Henriques he's the only experienced Fast-Medium all-rounder in the squad, Smith & O'Keefe are spinning all-rounders, they had Abbott in the side and they maybe should of used Armstrong instead but, they went for the safer option.

Pretty sure Mark Cameron isn't injured, he would be one we could have played for Coyte. But they should have gone Armstrong at 7 and over Coyte with Abbott moving down. Armstrong has shown he can hit it big in the u19s and 2nd 11 and Abbott bowling is more consistent than Coyte.

I don't know about it being a challenge for the home team. It's certainly a challenge for the second place side; but still that's a 20% better chance of winning the shield than they would otherwise have.

I think it's a superficial part of the problem if they are considering cutting the fixture. While there is merit in the concept, Shield finals ultimately did not breed Bradmans or Chappells or Lillees. The final is a very small part of the competition, but it does take up a week. I'd let it go if it meant keeping the 30 game season.

It's bemusing to consider such an astonishing proposal in the midst of a season that has possibly been scheduled by four year olds. There are so many badly organised gaps that you could have the first class season finish in January if you want. Obviously international summers vary, but if they cut back from 10 to 8 ODIs, they could very plausibly have all of February and March next year in which to run the T20s.

The bolded are very good points.

Tasmania Vs Victoria

Tasmania have two big losses with Doherty hurt and Krezja heading off to the world cup, and with no spinner in the 14 man squad Tasmania have a big hole in their bowling attack coming into the match. They have three possible debuts in May, Triffit & Kruger.

Victoria have three missing with White, David Hussey & Hastings heading off to the world cup but welcome back the return of McDonald to the side who will captain the match. It's an important match for both teams as they look to secure a spot in the final.

Squads for todays match:

Mark Cosgrove
Rhett Lockyear
Ed Cowan
George Bailey
Travis Birt
Jonathan Wells
Tom Triffitt
Luke Butterworth
James Faulkner
Brendan Drew
Matthew Day
Ben Hilfenhaus
Ashton May
Nick Kruger

Aaron Finch
Matthew Wade
Brad Hodge
Andrew McDonald
Rob Quiney
Michael Hill
Glenn Maxwell
Mark Cleary
Peter Siddle
James Pattinson
Jon Holland
Dirk Nannes
Evan Gulbis

This'll be the first time I think I'll ever see Tasmania without a spinner. I suppose you could count Lockyear as a spinner now :p.

Cosgrove still there for the 2nd part of the innings, Pattinson and Nannes with the wickets. I thought this split innings thing was only being used for a certain period, looks like it's being used for the whole tournament.

oh my god i have never jizzed so much in my life like wow

Siddle's reverse sweep of a Hilfy full toss on the stumps for four was gun
