Australian Domestic Cricket

Oh. Your. Gods.

When Maxwell hit the crease, Victoria were 6/157, requiring 112 runs in nine overs. Shortly after, they needed 65 from 6 overs with 2 wickets left.

Glenn Maxwell's 61 in 27 balls proved to be the fastest 50 in the history of the competition and sparked as ridiculous a comeback as you will ever see.

Victoria never really looked in the hunt until then. They finished stage 1 20 runs and 2 wickets behind Tasmania. Cosgrove and Bailey each made centuries, putting on 221 for the 3rd wicket, another record. Tassie's only regret was that after the partnership was broken, they fell away, but not so severely that they failed to produce a good score.

Maxwell was frustrated to get himself out, but he had done enough. Peter Siddle also displayed skill to make a quick 25 and see the game through in the last ball.

This match can only be described as orgasmic. In-f**king-credible.

Wtf, I was on circinfo in the evening yesterday, and the odds were like 1.001 for Tasmania and a crap load for Victoria, how the hell did they manage to win that!

Whatever happened with those split innings games? deemed a success? are they doing it again next season

Both openers failed for WA and Lyon gets his first Shield wicket by getting North out, it was a terrible shot from north.

CA is saying he was deceived by Lyon turn. Nonetheless good start to Lyon FC career. Harris made a good start was going at a run a ball before getting out.

Lyon has three! It's a shame Pomersbach got out for 82, WA needed a big hundred. Ronchi & Beaton scoring quickly.

Had a great match last night between Tasmania and Victoria, Victoria coming from behind to win the match. The new split innings rules haven't changed much same amount of people at the grounds, the same level of competitiveness between the sides. They are cutting two rounds of the comp next season for the expanded Big Bash League. Pretty sure they are keeping the rules in place next season haven't heard anything about changing it.

How did his other two wickets look? Dam good effort to get the best WA batsmen on debut. I noticed he was dropping it short quite a bit which was being whacked for 4 but hes managed to keep his economy under 3 now.
