Siddle standing up once again, are they show the pace of bowlers?
Yeah, probably something that pushed McKay out of the side, to be honest. Nannes is not letting quite as many go as he might in one-dayers, though that may also be because he's missed a few games, but his fast ones are still up towards 145. There's a certain energy to his bowling, mind you, if you don't watch the radar, you'd probably assume they're all going through at full pace. Probably because his slower ones are still 135.
Siddle and Harwood are about as fast as each other, which is a pretty good pace, the kind which national selectors love. Both are very genuine seam bowlers rather than swing bowlers, which might suggest either untrodden territory for Bracken later on or maybe a good wicket for Clark. Then again, Clark is a good yard slower than these guys, so maybe Siddle's youth and venom has been key. It's certainly not a scary wicket.
McDonald doesn't seem to bother with anything faster than 120 these days, but for that pace, he can still use the ball extremely well. I guess he might look to build his core strength and put his pace back up in later seasons if injuries hold off, but if he can simply be a more dominant one-day batsman he would easily be one to talk about.
McGain was on about 20 from 5 overs when I last watched, so finishing with 1/44 in 15 he must have recovered and bowled some beauties.
Hodge also looked up to his task and the supporting spinners might well play a role come day 4.
