Australian Tour of India, October 2010/11

Disappointed with Sehwag and Dravid. Especially Dravid who after that 70 odd in the first test has failed twice now. But good thing is, Sachin and Vijay have stayed put and have kept India floating well. Good that Vijay has grabbed his chance and has so far done pretty well. Hope he goes on! Sachin is vital here if India have to make a match out of this. We still can win the game if we get as close to the Aussie total. An Aussie lead of less than 30 isnt going to make much of a difference. India normally scores at around 3.5 runs per over these days. That will get them 300+ runs for the day if they are not all out. Still the possibility of a result in India's favor is not ruled out. Hope it stays that way till the end of the 5th day.

Yeah Vijay played very sensibly didn't get too excited just kept his nerves and kept building his innings.good to see him playing like this.So it didn't effect India not to having Gambhir in the team

I was a bit upset on how dravid played. As a senior player you should take the responsibility don't leave everything to Sachin always but i know he will comeback in the next innings hope so :p

Sachin R Tendulkar :hpraise another achievement

Balanced game. more to the Oz side tbh.

Sachin holds the key. Vijay needs to make sure he stays with him as during the close of play today, he was looking as if he will get out anytime. I'm waiting to see how Pujara goes. He can be a real asset in the future.

Peter George does look a pretty good prospect, just might need to put a yard of pace.Seems a much better prospect than McKay.Must say the future looks bright for fast bowling in Australia -George, Pattinson( Who will play for Australia before he turns 23 imo),Hazlewood , Trent Copeland.

Hazlewood can clock into the mid 140s and Copeland I was reading on cricinfo can get swing and obviously bounce so can't wait to see them.

More than not affecting, Vijay's inclusion has helped India because Gambhir's form in recent times has been going down the slide. He was poor in SL, and in the first test too, he didnt do anything. But as someone said here, Vijay shows a major favoring for the onside shots (just like how I do in the online Stickcricket game). Hope he can improve his off side game.

Yes, Aussies hold the advantage here. But I am placing some faith in our young guns, Raina and Pujara. Tonight, I am watching the game for two reasons. One is Sachin Tendulkar and the other is CHETESHWAR PUJARA! Lots of hype on him being the next Dravid and all. Lets see how he goes. Raina has established himself in test cricket. If Pujara does it too, it will be a major relief and we could see one of the Fab three hang up their boots soon.

Not sure how you can say Raina has "established" himself in test cricket just yet. His vulnerability to the short pitched delivery vs good quicks can certain kill his test career.

Wasn't too impressed by Hazlewood based on what i saw of him here in ENG this summer.

You dont look at establishment based on the type of bowlers he has faced. So far in his first three test matches, he has had a century, two fifties and a 40 odd score. He has definitely put Yuvraj out for quite sometime. Since we play 7 batsmen most often, Raina's spot is safe until he continuously fails and someone else (e.g. Pujara, Rohit Sharma, Yuvraj, etc) consistently score big in domestic/international cricket. Also Raina adds a lot to our fielding in test matches whereas Yuvraj's fielding keeps going downhill rapidly.

The game for Aussies is to pick wickets and try to force India to bat again but i amafriad this will not gonna happen

I agree with War, I'm getting JP Duminy vibes (or maybe even Phil Hughes) when I see Raina. Looks a world beater in domestic cricket and against rubbish bowling on pitches that don't bounce above waist high, but I think he will often fail against good stuff. Doesn't mean he can't be a decent international player, after all there aren't that many good, fast bowlers in world cricket - it's just I don't think Raina's as good as he's looked in the past.

Totally agree. Although Yuvraj has not justified his selections, I`d stick my neck out and say that Yuvraj is naturally more gifted than Raina who only has very few scoring areas.

You are a legend North :hpraise. I did not follow the match but laughed MAO when I saw North's century on the scorecard. Its amazing how me manages to hang on to his place with all those failures.
