Australian Universities

You are one of the very few people who have said this.
Generally, US education is considered the best, followed by UK, and then Australia.
As far as management education is concerned, I suppose, this does hold true to a certain extent, but I am fine with studying in Australia.
Yeah, America's standardised education delivers fantastic results from the outside, but gives little to its struggling students.

I'm sure I heard somewhere that Australia's education is considered better than that of the UK and USA, and this is not in university but in general.

When I mentioned US, UK, Australia, it meant in a general way, and not specific to any university / B-School. Sadly, other than the IIMs India does not have too many good institutes.

What about IIPM and ISB?

Abby, thanks for starting this topic.I would have started it,if not you.

Anyways,I did some research on Oz Unis.

Basically, with the courses that you have mentioned, you do not require prior work ex for Australia. A few universities which I came across were-

Monash
La TRobe
Griffith
RMIT
Deakin
Bond
Uni of Technology Sydney[not sure how good it is,our forum friends could help us out]

As far as India is concerned, its sad,but your degree will not be recognized in India,so the IIMs are out of question for you.

Are you interested in going to Australia as well??
I am looking specifically at Sydney, so that leaves me with only 2-3 good universities to choose from.

oh please!! IIPM is over-hyped. Yeah, ISB, Hyderabad is very highly rated.

ISB is very expensive and imo not worth that amount (almost double of IIM iirc). IIPM (if its the one that I think it is) is worse than the online course with Phoenix.

Not sure about the fees for ISB, but IIPM sucks big time.
You go to IIPM to get a MBA degree, not to get proper MBA Education.

Yep,mainly looking at the ones that I mentioned above as I have a few relatives staying in Sydney and Melbourne.

Fees for ISB are around Rs25lakhs. But,its worth it.Anothjer thing, for ISB,you require work ex for atleast 5 -7 years.

IIPM-the best place to get an MBA degree if you don't get anywhere else.

Great!! What course are you looking for?

If you pay Rs 25 Lakh for ISB, wouldn't it be better to go to some university abroad, and gain international exposure?

:D Thats because it will be the only place to get the degree then :D. Its like saying you came first in a race in which only you were running.:D

Absolutely.

Looking ideally at Business Administration.

As for ISB-yes if you are paying Rs 25lakhs,its much better to get international exposure.

Another thing which I wish to highlight over here-If you want to do it from India, ensure that you get inot the Top 10,else the future prospects are very bleak.Indian Universities normally chrage you around 8-10 lakhs for their programmes with 'not so good quality'.leaving aside a few universities.

Better to put in another 10 lakhs and get quality education abroad.

University of NSW are known for having International students. I'm there but i'm a local so it doesn't count. I considered going to USYD but they didn't have actuarial studies in commerce and isn't as flexible at UNSW. But USYD is a top notch uni as well.

I see.. There are more people interested in doing MBA than doing MS :( Somehow, I have 0% interest in doing MBA.. :p may be because, I want to stay in pure technical side.

Why can't you try doing MBA in NUS,Singapore? It's damn good for MBA. I have heard people saying doing MBA in IIM is nothing compared to doing the same in NUS. Oh, well.. I am still selecting the universities in US to do my MS in later next year.( Jan or Aug, 2010) :)

Great whats your major? you're working in CTS na?
My brother is going to UNSW to do MS this february.
