PS2 version: Ball marker on/off setting in the options menu mid-game

Am i misunderstanding this option? I thought toggling it off would mean as a batsman, i would not see where the computer is pitching the ball with the ball marker.

Having toggled it, i find the marker is always there ... what is this option then?

Is there any way to remove the cursed marker when batting?

cheers
jim

this is an aid for manual fielding I think

Hey brah, I'm pretty sure that refers to the ball marker on the map down at the bottom of the screen. You know where it shows the fielders' locations? Well it tracks where the ball is on that. I think if you turn that feature off, it doesn't tell you where the ball is in relation to the fielder -- nor how close/far away they are to picking it up.

As for turning the bowling marker off, I'm not aware of any conventional method to do it. If you have a Gameshark or an Action Reply device, there may be a code floating around.

ohhhh, that really clears things up for me. I thought it was the bowling marker (the one that is on the pitch) that was able to be turned on or off. I saw it in the options but never turned it on or off. I'm a bit dissapointed now that you can't turn the pitch ball indicator off. :(

Well I'm sure there's a way to turn it off which may well include patching but that will only be on the PC version.

Yes, but I'd rather the PS2 version because you won't get any lag when playing the game, the game won't crash on you (if it does it's very very rare), and the best part is that the PS2 controller is very confortable, and I hate playing sport games on the computer.

But yes, I am missing out on patches that could make the game a lot better.

Keeping back on topic..... I find that the first-person camera angle is good, and makes it a little more difficult to see where the bowling marker is, as you only see it for a second.

Try the Logitech Dual Action gamepad; basically a ps2 controller for the pc. Got one for Xmas for PES 3 and it's superb.
