Story Bangladesh Begin Blissful Age [India In Bangladesh]

No worries Jaz :D Wow, would love to have raced you at some stage, my best was always 11.29 in 100 meters.

But anyway, this story have been great and only a couple of weak updates every week is better then no updates every week

That's mighty quick. I'll have that time beat by the end of year 10 though. ;)

Aye, your right. It's the match preview that takes the most time to do, amazingly, so I might just start previewing just the Bangladeshi team.

As I always say,

" There is no time constraint in story forums " :)

Who knows, If I have enough time in my hands, I will also resume my Indian story along with new career one. So there is no time limits. I am sure readers will always look for the writer's work. :)

I did mention no time constraints in story forums in my post. ;)

Yeah and hopefully we can both continue them soon. Cheers for the posts, you two. :)

Second One Day International Preview

Unfortunately for India, they couldn't continue their form from the last Test match into the first One Day match. Bangladesh comprehensively beat India with ease and recorded a very simple victory. This has given Bangladesh a massive boost and they now have the lead in the series. One more victory from the next two matches will gift them the series, which would make this tour seem magical.

The Bangladesh team for the Second ODI:

1. Shahriar Nafees
2. Mushfiqur Rahim
3. Habibul Bashar(*)
4. Mohammad Ashraful
5. Naeem Islam
6. Faisal Hossain
7. Nazmus Sadat
8. Arafat Sunny
9. Ahsanullah Hasan
10. Mashrafe Mortaza
11. Hasibul Hossain

The Bangladesh team sees Mushfiqur Rahim and Faisal Hossain slot into the batting order, with no changes made to the bowling attack. Mushfiqur Rahim opens alongside Nafees, which was the same opening combination used when Bangladesh lost in the second Test. Neither batsmen batted remarkably well together when they opened with one another, but lets hope that changes in this match. Shahriar Nafees has been very good in the short format this season, averaging just under 50 for Bangladesh and 76 for One Day this year. He started his series with 86* which was an indispensable knock for Bangladesh as they went on to get an awesome victory. Mushfiqur Rahim on the other hand, has failed completely with the bat in any format. He batted three times in the One day matches against Australia and only managed 20 runs in those three innings; no not outs. He needs to get his batting together soon if he wants to stay as the wicketkeeper, despite being only 18 years old. Habibul Bashar is Bangladesh's rock, but was surprisingly the player that failed with the bat in the last match. It takes a special player to average 43 in four matches in Tests against Australia and India, whilst averaging 54 in four matches in One Day Internationals against the same teams. He has been very consistent with the bat and his captaincy has been flawless too. Hopefully he can continue that streak, but improve on his first ODI performance.

The middle order consists of Ashraful, Islam, Hossain and Sadat which is witness to one newcomer and a batting change. Mohammad Ashraful is moved up the order to number four ahead of Islam, mainly due to fitness worries about Islam. Ashraful has failed so far in this tour with India, failing to score above the 20's. Heck, the only good performance he has put in so far this year is when he scored 164* and 61. The very aggressive batsman has the potential to smash nearly any bowler, but just needs to play more confident and realise his potential. Naeem Islam comes in at number 5, and has been moved down due to fainting at training a few days ago. He has been playing out of his skin in recent time and if Bangladesh win this match, will no doubt be rested in the last match. An average of 76(Tests) and 70(ODI) in his debut season for Bangladesh is something to boast about. Faisal Hossain was very impressive for Chittagong in the domestic scene but failed to make his mark in the one Test match he played, scoring only 11 runs. Sir Ian Botham has decided to persist with him, however, in the hope he will churn out a surprising big innings. Bangladesh's number seven is the infamous Nazmus Sadat. At only 20 years old, he has burst onto the domestic scene for Khulna and destroyed bowling attacks with his batting. His bowling in One Day matches has also been very good, and he has shown signs of turning into a quality player.

Bangladesh have opted for the same bowling attack as the one that helped defeat India in the first One Day International. Hasibul Hossain and Mashrafe Mortaza are the seamers to take the new ball once again but both will most likely miss the last ODI due to bad fitness. The fitness in the Bangladesh camp has been dampened due to the amount of excessive training they have had to do to be on par with the quality of India. Arafat Sunny and Ahsanullah Hasan back up the opening pair, with their scintillating spin. Arafat Sunny hasn't been the best spinner in One Day matches for Bangladesh, surprisingly, but I can see that changing very shortly. Hasan has had an average year but 6 wickets in the last Test innings and 3 in the last ODI has given his form a massive boost. As long as he can bowl it in the right areas, I think he'll do well.

This Bangladesh squad has won 2 out of the 3 games against India this tour and have already had an amazing time, no matter what result this and the next match may bring. However, they still have a chance of winning their first One Day Series of the year and will no doubt be going all out to win this match. I can't see them winning the last match, so I'd be pinning all their hopes on this match. They have the spirit definitely but do they lack the fitness?

1. Virender Sehwag
2. Dheeraj Jadhav
3. Sachin Tendulkar
4. Rahul Dravid
5. VVS Laxman
6. Mahendra Singh Dhoni
7. Joginder Sharma
8. Harbhajan Singh
9. Anil Kumble
10. Gagandeep Singh
11. Sandeep Maniar

India have gone for the same team as the last match, which failed to beat the Bangladesh lineup. Usually any of the Indian batsmen can fail and another batsman will perform, but that didn't happen in the last match. Bangladesh can't bet on that happening again as the Indian's concentration will be much improved. Their bowling was also lacking much quality. Kumble and Singh are the experienced duo and need to get the other three bowlers bowling well, leading by example. They need to try and play their natural game, and they will win easily.

Pitch

Bangladesh's chances of a result in their favour is best when the pitch is spinning and Bangladesh have definitely got that! The forecast for the match is sun with a hint of cloud for the morning with the afternoon being dominated by some beautiful sun. The bounce is average which won't really change the game at all. The wear is turning, however, which will give quite alot of advantage to the likes of Sunny. The outfield is fast which means we could see alot of boundaries. The light is very good so we are bound to have a perfect match ahead of us, once again.

Toss

Both the representatives of their sides have been out and shook hands. They then preceded to look at the pitch and were both heard saying they would choose differently. They then did the toss, which was won by Bangladesh. Habibul Bashar decided to put India into bat, thus meaning Bangladesh will bowl first. This is a must win for India, but can they manage to return to their awesomeness levels from recent years? Or can Bangladesh, against all odds, record yet another astounding victory? We'll soon find out.

I also want the Indians to win this one...:p Hoping for Sachin and Jadhav to fire...

Great pres and writing as usual Jaz..:clap

Ahh, one of the greatest stories on PC comes back with a bang. Quality work Jaz! :)

Rahim... He's a keeper right? If he is the one I'm thinking of then I'm not sure on him opening, and you mentioned how Nafees and Rahim didn't work well together when they did in the second test. I think Rahim may be a ltitle slow for ODI's. I'm not surprised about Ashraful not doing to well, I don't rate him on icc.

Bangladesh win for mine. Awesome work mate, kiu!

India Post High Score

Bangladesh have the advantage from the first One Day International and can lose this match, but still win the series. India on the other hand, have to win this game if they want to win the series. India have gone all out with their lineup, by not changing their strongest side. Despite their recent victory, Bangladesh are not the favourites to win the match and will have to go against all the odds, to get something from the match. Just like the last match...

Sehwag and Jadhav commence with them both getting off the mark in the first over. Mashrafe Mortaza had an immense start, getting a maiden in his first over but his second over was even better. Three dot balls against Dheeraj Jadhav was met with a single for his fourth delivery. Virendar Sehwag was then on strike and struck out to Mortaza. Sehwag couldn't hit a run off Mortaza's first over and has got out to the man without scoring any runs off his bowling. A short delivery from Mortaza was not expected by Sehwag and he edged it through to Rahim. Early breakthrough for Bangladesh with the score now 9/1.

V Sehwag - c Rahim b Mortaza - 6(10)

Sachin Tendulkar is in and smashes Mortaza for a boundary off his first ball. Awesome start for Tendulkar, a very confident one. India soon found their feet and were starting to get the scoreboard ticking. Hossain had had a dire start and conceded 21 runs off his opening four overs. He needed to end his opening spell on a high. Mortaza hadn't done much either, bar the wicket and had conceded 18 runs off his opening four overs. Bangladesh needed to keep their bowling tighter.

Neither bowler ended well at all, both going for at least 6 runs off their overs. It was time for Sunny and Sadat to enter the scene. Sadat conceded four runs off his opening over, a clean hit boundary from Tendulkar, but it was Sunny's first over that saw the second wicket. Sunny bowled a normal delivery to start off his first spell which Jadhav hit away for an easy single. India however decided to go risky and went for the second run but Jadhav fell just short. Very good fielding by Sadat to give Bangladesh to opportunity. 59/2.

D Jadhav - run out(Sadat) - 31(41)

India once again started to claw back and that was obvious to anyone as Sunny was hit for 15 runs in one over! He was duly taken out of the attack for Ahsanullah Hasan. The runs kept coming, and rather quickly, with Bangladesh looking a little tense. Sadat went for 24 runs in his opening five overs and was taken out of the attack for the average Hassibul Hossain. His target was Tendulkar.

He got the run rate down in his first over, going for two runs, before picking up his first wicket of the day. Rahul Dravid played a front foot shot to a good length delivery and just popped it straight into the air and into the hands of Faisal Hossain. A straight forward wicket for Bangladesh and just when the partnership was at it's best. Tendulkar is still there and definitely the danger man for India. However, they have a very destructive middle order and Bangladesh must be a little concerned. 117/3.

R Dravid - c Hossain b Hossain - 35(39)

VVS Laxman tried to square cut his first delivery but he only ended up producing a play and a miss. Not the majestic start he was searching for. After defending quite a few deliveries, Laxman went haywire. He hit three boundaries in only five balls! He is definitely taking the attack to the bowler. Hasibul Hossain and Ahsanullah Hasan were both taken out of the attack to allow Bangladesh's best bowlers, arguably, Sunny and Mortaza.

Sunny and Mortaza managed to bring down the run rate a tad to make India 148/3 at the end of the 29th over. It's still a formidable score at the current period and India must be looking to get around the high 200s. Fourth ball of the 30th over and Sachin Tendulkar brings up his 74th ODI half century. It has been a sensational innings and one that has given India the position they wanted in the match. It took him 63 balls as he slowed down quite considerably in past overs but it is still a fast conversion rate. He's been splendid thus far.

Tendulkar 50 off 63 balls

Bangladesh kept digging away at Tendulkar and Laxman but they just couldn't get a wicket. Bangladesh then took drastic action and brought Sadat back into the attack against two spin lovers... Judging from his opening over, that didn't work. Bangladesh kept him on however but took Sunny off for Faisal Hossain!? Bangladesh had taken a massive risk and chose a batsman to bowl when Tendulkar and Laxman looked most destructive...

What a wicket! Hossain gets a wicket in his first over and bowls Laxman comprehensively. Laxman went to hit the ball straight over Hossain's head, but did not expect a yorker. 45 runs was a good innings for Laxman and one that kept India's innings ticking. They still have six wickets left in hand and at this rate, are going to be getting quite close to the 300 mark. 207/4 off 37 overs.

V Laxman - b Hossain - 45(52)

A flurry of bowling changes then occurred as Bangladesh looked for that vital wicket that would get rid of Tendulkar. Alas it didn't come, but Tendulkar's century did. It took him 37 balls to get from 50 to 100! Now that is how you bat aggressively. This innings has acted as a catalyst for India and I can't see them losing the match with this score. Sachin has led from the front with his batting, and has looked superb with the bat. This has been a joy to watch from a neutral perspective.

Tendulkar 100 off 101 balls

India were going all out now and Tendulkar had his first mishap. He went 102 runs without giving a chance to the bowlers but nearly succumbed to an lbw decision. It looked plumb but the umpire thought otherwise. Sunny was unlucky to get his man. Next over and another lbw appeal against Tendulkar! He's started to look quite shaky now and Hasan has to take advantage of Tendulkar's insecurity.

He does! After three dot balls in the over, Hasan finally gets Tendulkar for lbw. Tendulkar had a fantastic innings but has ended it on a poor note. He didn't look like scoring many more in the last few overs, as he was mistiming shots and all sorts. It was still an indispensable innings for India but Bangladesh must be elated that he is finally out. With 5.2 overs left, India are 247/5. Dhoni and Sharma at the crease.

S Tendulkar - lbw Hasan - 104(110)

Bangladesh started throwing the ball to all their pure bowlers, as they had one over left in them. Arafat Sunny was the man to get the next breakthrough, as Sharma was out for a quickfire 14. Sunny got his first wicket of the match, with him only allowed two more deliveries in this match, but it has been a very poor ODI for him once again. He was sensational in the Test Series against Australia and India but has failed to feature prominently against the same teams. He needs a good one day performance. 267/6.

J Sharma - lbw Sunny - 14(12)

Ahsanullah Hasan has easily been the best bowler for Bangladesh, ahead of Mortaza and showed his class with a beautiful wicket of Dhoni. Two runs conceded for one run for the second last over of the match is pretty darn good. Dhoni chipped up a shot straight into Nafees' hands after a delightful ball from Hasan. He has been better than Sunny in the shorter format, once again. 271/7.

M Dhoni - c Nafees b Hasan - 28(32)

Mashrafe Mortaza came in to bowl the last over of the match. He went for 6 runs off his first three balls, including a delicious boundary from Kumble. He got a wicket with the fourth ball though as he dislodged Singh's offstump. Pure brute pace got Singh out as he moved his bat way too late resulting in his own wicket. 3 runs off 5 balls isn't amazing by any means but nothing was expected. 277/8, two balls left.

H Singh - b Mortaza - 3(5)

Two singles ended India's innings to give them a score of 279/8. It was a much better batting performance in this match than the last match, with all the Bangladesh bowlers getting hit for many runs. India looked certain to score around 300 but perhaps could be a little disappointed with their final score after they had put so much effort into the first 30 overs. They just fell apart in the latter stages. Bangladesh have done well in the end to keep the score down but it is still a proficient score and one that no-one expects Bangladesh to get. They really are the underdogs now, definitely.

End of Innings - India 279/8
Tendulkar 104
Laxman 45
Hasan 2-48
Mortaza 2-54

V Sehwag - c Rahim b Mortaza - 6(10)
D Jadhav - run out(Sadat) - 31(41)
S Tendulkar - lbw Hasan - 104(110)
R Dravid c Hossain b Hossain - 35(39)
V Laxman - b Hossain - 45(52)
M Dhoni - c Nafees b Hasan - 28(32)
J Sharma - lbw Sunny - 14(12)
H Singh - b Mortaza - 3(5)
A Kumble - not out - 6(3)
G Singh - not out - 1(1)

H Hossain 10-0-58-1-5.8
M Mortaza 10-1-54-2-5.4
N Sadat 8-0-54-0-6.8
A Sunny 10-1-51-1-5.1
A Hasan 10-0-48-2-4.8
F Hossain 2-0-13-1-6.5

All Hail Sachin, another great century for Sachin against Bangladesh. Would be really tough for the Tigers to win this on if the Indians do bowl well. Going for Indians to win the game.

Quality writing as usual Jaz :hpraise

congrats on winning the SOTM award mate. Its very much deserved! excellent story!

Tendulkar is a legend! :hpraise Bangladesh should have a very high confidence level to chase this one up successfully!

Keep up the great works :)

Congrats on SOTM, well deserved. This is a really good reminder of how you don't need any fancy graphics to make a great story. I think the topic complements the style of presentation as well. I can learn a lot from this and, most importantly, it is an entertaining, interesting read. KUTGW!
