Argh. Once again, top quality teams show us just how good they really are. Our batsmen have once again produced the goods, only to be let down by all of the bowlers apart from Tareq Aziz, with his brilliant 4-45.

Manager Diary Returns!

The Bangladeshi Cricket Board was very happy with Rhys Williams' first season in charge. He brought victory in the NatWest series, beaten Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in tests and one day matches! He is hoping for another great season ahead of him!
Current Rankings:
Tests: 9th, -10pts. West Indies nearest opposition on -7pts.
ODIs: 9th, -7pts. England nearest opposition on -7pts also.

SERIES IN 06-07 SEASON

INDIA (Home) - 2 Tests, 3 ODIs.

ENGLAND (Home) - 2 Tests, 3 ODIs.

NEW ZEALAND (Away) - 2 Tests, 3 ODIs.

WORLD CUP (in West Indies).

My Aims:

V India:

+Try to win one of the test matches.
+Try to win the ODI series 2-1.

V England:

+Try to win one of the test matches.
+Try to win the ODI series 2-1.

In New Zealand:

+Bowl New Zealand out every time.
+Try to win an ODI

I have picked a very similar squad to the one that played last year. One noteable player not in the squad is M Abedin, this is because he didn't perform aswell as was hoped. Another one of these is Syed Rasel, although performing OK, I could only pick a small amount of players for the series. He, and others like him, may be given the chance later on.

Test Series V India

Home V India: 2 Tests & 3 ODIs.

Test Series:

1st Test at Dhaka

Bangladesh Second Innings: 169-6
Aftab Ahmed 58; M Islam 30*; H Singh 3-59; Salvi 2-56.

BANGLADESH (421 & 169-6) beat INDIA (387 & 202) by 4 wickets
Man Of The Match: Dharmani

WOW! A great way to start the season, although a second innings jutter made me fear the worst for some moments! This team continues to rise and now I have aspirations to win my 3rd test series in a row!

My Aims Revisited:

+Win the test.

Yep, yep and yep! That was a great win and I was very impressed - probably the same team for the next match (barring injury).

+Get a first innings lead.

I, for one, didn't think we were going to pass this aim after we had to bat second, as second batting team don't usually get leads. But we did pass it, and we passed it with flying colours. A lead of 34 after both first innings made me very smiley indeed!

Overall, very impressive. I am looking forward to the second test at Chittagong and more great performances!

2nd Test at Chittagong

My Aims:

+Hold on for the series victory
+Win the test match

Welcome to Chittagong for the second test in what, so far, has been the best series to date in Bangladesh!

Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first:

LINEUPS:

India: Kambli comes in for Y Singh.

Bangladesh: No changes.

THE MATCH:

Bangladesh First Innings: 298 all out
Aftab Ahmed 64; Hasan 52; H Singh 5-90; Kumble 2-74.

India First Innings: 305 all out
Tendulkar 170*; Dravid 34; Rafique 3-53; A Islam 3-56.

India lead by 7 runs.

Bangladesh Second Innings: 385 all out
M Islam 89*; Arif Ahmed 85; H Singh 6-123; Kumble 3-109.

India require 379 to win.

India Second Innings: 253 all out
Sehwag 63; Gambhir 48; Rafique 3-48; Hasan 3-61.

BANGLADESH (298 & 385) beat INDIA (305 & 253) by 125 runs.
Man Of The Match: Tendulkar

YES!!! A very, very good win, much better than the first test. Without Sachin's 170, India would have been majorly beaten! Another test series win moves us close to the West Indies in the rankings table - just 1 behind them now!

My Aims Revisted:

+Hold on for series victory.

Well, we did just that - but more - we won! The series was ours 2-0 and I move into the ODI series confident of more results!

+Win the test.

Simply magnificent! So far I have passed all of my aims for this season!

Another great win and a great 2-0 clean sweep at home to India. My man of the series is: Anshullah Hasan for great left arm spin once again. In this series he has had major contributions of: 4-77, 2-28 and 3-61 and to top that off, he made a great 52 in the first innings of the second test. Truly remarkable!

wow well done just like me and my Bangla story keep it up mate very nicely presented.
Just one suggestion maybe have a scorecard of the match so we can see all the other scores and who got who out and how.
but keep up the hard work
