BANGLADESH vs NEW ZEALAND TEST MATCH - DHAKA
day 2
SINCLAIR DIGS IN FOR TOURSITS
The test match is evenly poised at stumps on day 2 at Dhaka cricket ground , Bangladesh started the day on 300-4 with captain Bashar on a Bangladesh best of 148 ,he duely got the 2 runs needed to bring up his 150 which brought the house down in the crowd with some fans spilling onto the pitch to congratulate the history maker ,after the stewards finally cleared the pitch Bashar was draped in a Bangladesh flag which he hoisted in the air along with his bat which he pointed to the tigers dressing room ,it was a great moment for the veteran capain who just recently was under pressure in the South Africa series with poor scores ,but 115 at Chittagong in the 2nd ODI and now this 150 has quietened his critcics.
NewZealand got a break though when Kapali who had hit his 50 a ball after Bashar hit his 150 edged a wide delivery off Franklin with McCullum diving to take a great catch to silence the partizan crowd , Mushifiqer Rahim playing in his first test then must have wished for the ground to open up and swallow him when he had a nightmare of an over ,first delivery to Rahim he called a single which Bashar had no hope of getting home , exellent throw by Sinclair to McCullum with Bashar not even in the picture , so Bashar run out for 160 ,disaster for Rahim for calling it as well but things were about to get worse for the rookie when Oram came in next ball to trap him lbw for a duck.
experianced Rafique put on a good show with a nice unbeaten 39 but by now the kiwi bowlers had their tails up and soon polished off the tail to leave Bamgladesh all out for 387 ,highest in their history .
The New Zealand reply got off one hour before tea with Fleming and How , and it was Mushrafe Mortaza who got the early breakthrough bowling a bemused Fleming for 10 ,two overs later he did the exact same removing How`s off stump for 9 to leave New Zealand 24-2 ,Sinclair and McMillna then saw the toursits in for tea at 55-2 .
Bangladesh came out with some aggresive bowling after tea and it payed off when Shahadat Hossain bowled a yorker which McMillan got all tied up with hense a large team appeal and McMillan was walking for 13 ,McCullum came and went for a quick fire 26 leaving Styris unbeaten on 13 and a lovely innings by Matthew Sincalir who is still there on 67 , New Zealand 155-4 at close.
