Monday 23rd March Nets.

A bit of an awkward net this was. On the plus side my main game is batting and that went fairly well.

I batted first and faced the quick mens bowlers probably bowling at around 75mph ish. Didn't get out which was good. My technique was ok but again my main problem is moving my feet to the quicker bowlers. The batting was good with some good drives. I was good off of my legs but annoyingly my cutting wasn't working well. Around 2 years ago I broke my hand and before that my cutting was fantastic and my driving poor. When I came back from injury by cutting was poor and my driving brilliant so thats a weird one. I was timing the ball pretty well. The indoor nets are very quick and bouncy and I had one of the quicks giving me a going over with bouncers which I fended away well. The main thing is I felt in pretty good nick but I need to work of my feet movement. I was hit a couple of times in the thigh by the quickest of the two bowlers and I don't wear a thigh pad. I don't get bothered by it though and it doesn't hurt me getting hit on the thigh. Anyway I've got a couple of nice shiners on me legs.

Bowling was a problem. A couple of weeks ago I tweaked my knees. Instead of doing the sensible thing and resting I then done 5 hours of Nets. 3 hours of Indoor games and another 5 hours basketball in the next week. Now its turning into a problem. I can run up fine but as I get into the delivery stride I can't take off properly resulting in slow balls. On the plus side I got to work on my slower balls which worked fairly well but the Knee problem is a worry.

So overrall a decent net my batting was fairly good net with the only downside being my knees.

banjo6 added 3 Minutes and 14 Seconds later...

Just a quick summary of me as a player.

I reckon I'll be opening for the Under 15's and be middle order for the mens and 16's.

Im an agressive player who plays straight so sort of like a right handed Hayden.

Bowling im a Medium fast bowler who has a decent set of variations but I am only a part time bowler.

So batting is my main game but I would like to improve my bowling.

Another Net session.

A good net all round.

My batting was very good again with me playing some good attacking strokes and playing a full variety of strokes. I was out once going for a big heave but apart from that it all went well and I feel in good nick.

Bowling was pretty good as well. Decent pace and good slower balls. Got a couple of wickets. And no injury problems tonight.

Another good net session tonight.

Batting was good again. I had two nets one of about 10 minutes and one of 5 minutes. The first net 10 minutes went fairly well I was playing an openers role and was timing the ball fairly nice and didn't get out. The quick bowlers was giving me a going over again.

The second net was a go out and have a smash. It went very well I was smashing everything and didn't get out. I got a bouncer which I missed and it hit my helmet so I now have some nice velcro marks inprinted in my head but the session went well.

My bowling was on tonight. I was getting decent pace quite a bit of swing and picked up a few wickets. 2 Wickets came from outswinging yorkers and the other came from a good length ball.

Overrall my best net of the season.

Wednesday 1st April.

Another great net session.

Batting was fantastic again and the coach commented on how much I have improved. I got a nice seam mark and swollen shin because I didn't put the pads on properly and it went under the pad.

Bowling was decent.
