I want to get a Chess game on PC, which is the best? I've found Virtual Chess 2 for ?5 at gameplay, is that any good? I don't want to spend more than ?10 on it.

Thanks for your help!

The chessmaster series is very good.
You can do matches, practices and all sorts.

I feel this should be in the computer and tech forum though.

What's the AI like in Virtual Chess 2? It claims to have over 50,000 games from different Grandmasters on it's database. These things do have scaleable difficulty, right???

Slow Chess Blitz is a decent free chess program. You can play against the computer or play onlilne against friends. But the latest version of Chessmaster (Chessmaster 10th Edtion) is quite good from what I've heard, and you can get at Play.com for £8.

I think Kasparov Chess is also a good one. It has well designed skill levels and good training as well....

chessmaster is probably the best thing i've come across. Yahoo chess is reasonably well, playing against other humans.
