Afridi can't stay in long enough to develop a partnership :laugh

 Ye probably ..... but if he does .. U know what he does ;) :D

:cheers

I personally prefer to watch Sehwag and Tendulkar. I couldn't say if they are the best opening pair, but i like to watch them all the same.

Afridi gets all the runs,so it isn't really a partnership

Gilchrist/Hayden or Katich. Can't really go part them. Tendulker (when in form, obviously not right this moment)/Sehwag is also top class.

I think Fleming/Astle/Vincent for New Zealand is very underrated though. Being my biased self. Hopefully it works out this season like it has been for the last bunch of ODI's. They are in hot form.

Well if you're going back in time give me Greenidge and Haynes, but given the list at the top of the thread I'd go for Jayasuriya and Atapattu, coz I love watching Jaya when he's firing.

well hayden and gilchrisy should be removed because it is katich and gilchrist at the moment. But i would still say gilchrist and hayden just ahead of tendulkar and sehwag.

Katich & Gilchrist haven't made many runs together. Hayden & Gilchrist average something like 45 over 5000 runs or something.

I still think Langer should get a crack at opening in ODIs.

oath, ive emailed baggygreen.com.au many times about it

Butt And Afridi, the only pair that can get a 150 run partnership or be broken up without scoring within the first 15 overs :)

Doesn't langer average 39 in austrailian one day cricket, he should have played instead of Hayden, Langer is very agressive and could be a good partner for Gilchrist, alast it is too late

bump

reviving this thread.

Can't see why Jaya and Attapatu : or now Tharanga, didn't get any votes! Jaya alone does like 90% of that partnership anyways, no matter who his partner is!

Also Gibbs n Smith, only 1 :noway
