Hamid Hassan is my associate pick. He only played three ODIs in this period, but his hostile fast bowling put Afghanistan on the map. Skiddy and able to swing it both ways with a very heavy ball, he will complement my other two fast bowlers perfectly.

Virat Kohli made his debut towards the end of the decade, but he was international quality from ball one, and world class by the time the 2010s came about. @ahmedleo414

Darren Lehmann is someone who gets overlooked in discussions of great ODI players, but he averaged nearly 40 at a strike rate of over 80 in an era when that didn't really happen. He did it by being arguably the best placer of a cricket ball of all time: his running strike rate of 58.88 is absolutely elite, despite the fact that Lehmann was famously bad at running. As a left-arm spinner, he also maintained a bowling average of under 30 and an economy of under 5. Madness.
