The commentators were hyping it up a bit more last night saying there might be 60,000+. I'll never understand why teams don't just bowl 20 overs of spin in twenty20 it would be almost unbeatable.
Yea they were dreaming only one code in Australia would be getting those numbers for a domestic game outside of the finals and SOO of course. Although tbf, will take a while for the public to get use to this especially NSW and Vic who have split their teams.
Faulkner has been very impressive, how was he not picked for the Test side over Starc? Just wish the speeds were showing, would have liked to check the speed on those bouncers.

You never know, really. People do love Warnie. I suspect crowds might grow as people feel like they know what they're getting, particularly having a choice of teams in Sydney and Melbourne. The punters want to support something, but the teams just have to play and build the support base.
It's a solid crowd though, most grounds would be full. I'd be interested to see if Thunder get bigger crowds at home than Sixers because the public transport is better.

Wow this Thunder batting order is really thin, I'm starting to wonder whether there was enough good players to go round to have 8 teams. So far I would have preferred the Big bash of previous years with the domestic sides, but maybe this tournament will grow on me.

I didn't realize how bad the Thunder side was until I saw it tonight. It all depends on Gayle and Warner which will just be Gayle come Boxing day. We left out Cruickshank who easily should have been there ahead of Philipson. Wouldn't mind if they picked up Kurtis Patterson, the Big Bash was always about promoting youngsters and he is one that could use some promotion. Also Armstrong seems alright. Both would have been better than Philipson, still can't believe we even picked him up.

They have a history of doing badly as well I remember Mahmood getting carted everywhere last season.

It's a pity the timing of the tournament because it would have been really good if they could have gotten some more major international signings, thats the only thing the IPL does have going for it.
