What is this Big Bash league, is it the same KFC Big Bash without the sponsors?
And where have teams like NSW Blues, Victoria Bushrangers, Redbacks, etc. gone?

Sorry to ask such a noobish question, I have no idea about Australia's domestic cricket.

Yes, Star Cricket and Star Cricket HD shows Big Bash in India and it will be shown on ESPN once India Australia test series starts :cheers

As you do not have idea about Australia's domestic cricket, Big Bash league is a league similar to Indian Premier League but money wise on low scale and entertainment wise might just be better for the first few season(as IPL was).

They have removed the previous teams from T20 structure and there was Auction I suppose for players like IPL and there are now 8 franchises.

Any legal website showing it legally for free similar to IPL (like youtube??)

They didn't have an auction, it was just signing with a salary cap. From what I know a decent proportion of players opted to stay with their state teams, but I think teams where free to approach any player.

Sydney Sixers have won the first game of the season

Brisbane Heat 8/139 (20)
Daniel Christian 32 (22)
Matthew Hayden 29 (28)
-------
Stuart MacGill 2-21 (4)
Josh Hazlewood 2-24 (4)

Sydney Sixers 3-140 (18.4)
Brad Haddin 76 (59)
Nic Maddinson 28 (32)
-------
Daniel Christian 1-20 (4)
James Hopes 1-29 (3.4)

It was a great game last night (listened online as I don't have foxtel). Stuey MacGill bowled beautifully, especially for his age. I'm going to the Thunder v Stars game at the 'G tonight. Should be a great game, especially with Warney. :)

Omg a big night today , two thundering batsmen are rearing to go i feel either one will score a three figures tonight if their team opts to bat 1st . Lets see gayle or warner who's going to rock . Coming to yesterdays match it was a one sided match overall . At macgill why the hell did he retire ?

He was pretty busted up. His knee wasn't good and he had swelling around the nerves in the wrist, which is obviously fatal for a wrist spinner and for which he had surgery to attempt to relieve. Apparently the wrist has come good because last night he obviously had his control back. The end of his career was quite disappointing. The sort of player he was, he should have been destroyed in a great battle by a great batsman, not Xavier Marshall.

Lol. I was thinking it was starting today and one match is already over :D Not much prominence on cricinfo as well. The Indian tour match has more visibility that this news. Some pics show empty stands on day 1. Guess it is going to be a failure.

Jeez the Thunder lineup is pretty average after the top 3, could even say the openers. Surely they could have picked up Kurtis Patterson.

The attendance seems to be pretty disappointing.
