Not really, is that really what's on the cards next season?

Nothing official but to avoid 'overburn' they are considering dropping the Ryobi Cup in place of this 5 week Big Bash League.

Will this run along with the Big Bash like the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy in India or are they just going to clear up the whole Big Bash and the OD competition?

So what exatcly is wrong with the current Big Bash tournament? I thought it was seen as a raging success last summer. It's rather typical though, something is seen as a success so people will always try and milk it for all it's worth.

It could be rather detrimental to cricket in New Zealand too, having a window in April is fine but you can't create one in Decemeber/January. Hopefully playing contracts aren't far to extreme.

Guys i dont understand one thing. Let alone this big bash league run separately. Now if bradley hodge is signed by one of the two NSW franchise for t20, then whom will he represent in the sheffield shield ?? VB or NSW ?? Basically my doubt is that, are CA bringing 8 sides to both t20 and FC (or) t20 alone ??

i think every big Boards should go for this type of competition which makes players reach and cricket grow in those players like U19 and regional players as well like we saw in IPL that players like Tiwari,Sathish,Rayudu & Pinal shah sharing dressing room with Tendulkar and batting in partnership with him which withoght IPL we won't see that happen. Same to Shane Warne where he grew with Jadeja,Pathan;munaf,Trivedi so it should happen every country.
Here we might see Watson playing with some guy who we have never seen. This actually help a players confidence grow trumendously high

Their 1st ever Big Bash win in around 8 years. Key to their win was 1st POLLARD & after that it was DANIEL HARRIS. He just didn't get out in run chases until making 50 or finishing the game realy great form he is in.

So which teams are traditionaly strong in Big bash?

Edit: just checked the new names. Heat, Strikers, stars... lol. Looks like each T20 league is competing for the worst names

It's a weird feeling. I love my cricket and love to watch the Australian domestic season, but I don't know how to feel when I don't have anyone to support? There's 2 Melbourne teams and I'm a Victoria. Which team do I go for? I wish there was a Geelong team instead as I would actually have a team to go for as I'm from a regional area and closer to Geelong than Melbourne.

Yeah it gives you a reason to support a certain team. They may have missed the boat on this one because if you had a Geelong team you would have support from most regional Victorians. Or at least everyone on the Western side of the state.
