Yeah, we have exactly three bowlers, and pushing for the win on Day 5 would absolutely cook Starc. Reload for Melb.
Let me rephrase- With the amount of rain around, it is a bit difficult to expect Australia to win here.
On Jadeja - you can't drop an entire team. I full agree that his career is winding down, but the Indian team has more important issues - who are the long term bats not named Jaiswal? Who can support Bumrah beyond Siraj? Does another elite AR exist? - to solve before then.

(I can't answer the last two, but while India can't throw out the baby with the bath water, Sai Sudharsan and Sarfaraz Khan deserve more of a shot, and maybe Ruturaj Gaikwad/Devdutt Padikkal if they fail or other spaces (looking at that of Gill) become available

In all fairness, we dont have anyone waiting in the wings. This was one of the concerns I had raised during the Virat-Ravi and Rohit-Dravid eras. We kept adding newbies to the ODI and T20 teams, but there werent many changes to the Test setup. Here's where the role of the NCA and Laxman needs to be scrutinized as we dont really have many who can be trusted.

This is an interesting analysis. Although he has shown only two images, he has spoken about some stats to back it up.

Sorry non-Hindi members, the video has too much content to be translated word to word.

But he has ended it abruptly. The analysis starts off well at beginning with him comparing Virat's stances,Head position in 2018 and 2024. However, he seems to want to continue stating that Virat doesn't have a problem along the 4th/5th line.

The parallels drawn to the leg flick seem quite unnecessary. It's like a hardcore Virat fan defending him by stating that 'he scored more runs using the leg flick and got out to the leg flick as many times as well'.

I mean, there's no conclusion to the video as such.

You are right. Let's just hope that Virat puts his ego aside and address this issue.

Here something for some of the Indians to like on.

1 minute of Travis Head getting out

BTW I have personally seen an outswinger from the stump line troubling Head especially from a left armer. Too bad India doesn't have a left arm pacer nor someone like Shami (to support Bumrah) who is a brilliant exponent of seam bowling from round the wicket to left handers.

What is the possibility of rain tomorrow? I reckon Australia will fancy their chances even if there's 1.5-2 sessions of play available. Play for an hour, score hundred and then declare.

Australia should open with Head, bat 15 overs am sure they will score a 100 odd. Let India chase. Current form points to 2-1 for Australia.

The thing holding them back-they will be vary of Indians bouncing back from such situations. Cummins might not want to take that risk.

When Indian legends flip out on Number 9 batsmen, you know something is seriously wrong

I see that Australia has started their innings here and Bumrah has gotten Khawaja already. I would have wanted India to rest Bumrah for this innings and not bowl. There doesn't seem to be a chance of an Indian win here and as such Bumrah bowling doesn't add up.

I agree. Even with Australia 5 down at this point, it's not like India will win the Test from here. The lead is almost 250 and a quickfire 50 from Head and Co. would take the target beyond the visitor batsmen's reach.

Would love to see more of Akashdeep and Reddy to show their bowling prowess for larger scheme of things.

This sure is a facing saving performance from the pacers but the bigger question about the mediocrity of our batsmen still stands.

This is good, so far! The bowling seems much better than in the previous tests. Even if India bowl Australia out for a 100 odd, we are still left with approx 290 to get within 50 overs. Considering what we have seen from the batsmen so far, Australia will be sitting quite confidently here.

This is Australia's test match to even draw.

Let alone losing it.

Credits - Rain and bit of resistance from lower order yesterday.

Nice! A sporting declaration.

Pani puri vendor will probably say something stupid to Starc again here and lose his wicket now!
