India after winning back to back series down under - 2018/19 and 2020/21 are in Australia this summer for a 5 Test series.

The visitors are in all sort of problems in test matches where the team is going through a transition phase.

Anything less than a whitewash will be a big surprise for me.

You say that but our batting, outside of The Uz and Head, is very definitely not fully solid either. My prediction is 3-2

I say that because the Indian bowling ain't good enough this time.

Too much load on Bumrah the others they don't give enough inspiration to pick 20 wickets.

India won with Natarajan in the team.

I think Prasidh could do well and the pitches have offered a little more to seamers beyond bounce just in recent years.

He played only the last test.

In last series somehow each and every bowler who played or replaced someone stepped up.

1st - Full Strength bowling lineup played Shami got injured during that 36 innings.

2nd - Siraj replaced Shami and immediately made an impact alongside Bumrah,Ashwin and Jadeja Umesh got injured in the 2nd innings.

3rd - Umesh replaced by Saini who got injured as well.

4th - Bumrah,Ashwin and Jadeja out in comes Sundar, Shardul and Natarajan.

Plus they had a mastermind in Bharat Arun as bowling coach who plotted the entire series plan for Aussie batters in COVID (Ravi Shastri said that in an interview as far as I remember).

I feel more than the bowling, it's the batting that will lose us the series. Bowling wise, Australia is far, far ahead of us, but still we have a small chance since their batsmen are struggling too. But as long as we keep getting dismissed for 150 scores, there's not much the bowling department can do.

I also feel the preparation is not there either last both tours the players got accustomed to the conditions by playing limited overs first.

Even during the covid times two proper warmups were played just before the tests series.

Pant was struggling before the series dropped from limited overs got that hundred at the scg in the pink ball warmup and played from the 2nd test in the tour.

Compared that to now no prior warm ups only game vs their own team got cancelled, horrible batting form of players.

Only Prasidh, Jurel and Rahul played the A game and we all know how Rahul is.

As I said it will be a big surprise or an upset if India does well here.

Whatever it is after winning 4 BGT in a row both home and away in Rohit Sharma's word 10 saal mai ek baar toh chalta hai yaar.

Trans : One series loss is allowed in 10 years yaar - Rohit Sharma :D

2-1 to either team. I feel it will be a closely fought series. It won't be a whitewash for sure. As mentioned above, the Indian batting could be the main cause of concern here.

I do have a feeling they will draft in someone like Pujara after the 2nd test. Based on what I have read about, Jurel seems a sure starter here. India will be propped up by Pant, Sundar, Jurel and Gill. I dont expect Rohit and Virat to contribute more than the odd 100 in Sydney.

Bowling- Bumrah needs an able partner. I do not see Siraj performing that role here. He has been off colour in India's home game. However, the pitches in Australia might assist him in a better manner. Also, one thing with him- he tends to do well against a handful of oppositions- Sri Lanka and Australia. So, could be it. Prasidh- another guy who seems to be doing well for India A alongside Mukesh. I would also like to see Shami and Shardul come back at some point. Gambhir's fascination regd Rana and Reddy doesnt evoke any level of confidence in me,
