Australia showed a lot of cracks against Pakistan and West Indies. A more clinical side in India beating them is not very surprising in hindsight, with conditions favouring Bumrah, and a timely return to form for Kohli.

Ha Ha! Okay, weaker-on paper.

Bumrah was exceptional. Head apart, no other Aussie was able to negotiate the bowling. Smith and Labuschagne were found wanting there.
Weaker on paper for sure.

A lineup with Devdutt Paddikal, Dhruv Jurel and even Washington Sundar doesn't quite match with their batters.

McSweeney evens out Paddikal but the rest in terms of home games test experience were no match on paper atleast.

A big win for sure, really enjoyed watching 2 back to back days of Test cricket ,ball to ball action of this match on weekend.

Have to say watching Tests or cricket in Australia is real fun - the overall ambience: stadiums, crowd, scenic beauty, commentary coverage all adds to it.

Waking up early is another level of excitement too.

My first series goes all the way back to 2003/04 still have very good memories of Dravid bringing that century with a six, Pathan's debut, Tendulkar 241 etc.

Last 2 series have been great beating Australia at home is never easy somehow India pulled it off.

And start to this series is just a dream one, a perfect all round cricket played both with the bat and ball.

However this is a 5 Test series and Australia will bounce and comeback harder. This win might just woke them up and unleash the beasts on Indians.

I predicted 5-0 but Australia 4-1 win coming up.

Yeah, that was something. My first one was 1999/00 where we got whitewashed, but it was always good to wake up early and watch the then Aussies unit in full flow. The tri-series that followed the Tests was equally exciting.

I predicted 5-0 but Australia 4-1 win coming up.

Jinx, ehh?

Gill, you forgot Gill! Cricfan might not spare you for this...You gotta mention him, whether the statement is good/bad/ugly- it matters not...
Only thing matters is Jab shot and nonveg.

Honestly, if India put Rohit and Gill back into their top 3 and drop KL and Padikkal... the 3-2 is back on

India will drop Paddikkal and Jurel for Adelaide. Don't see them dropping KLR. Furthermore, they might ask Rohit to bat lower considering the start that KLR and Jaiswal gave us in the 2nd innings.

I do think Indian fans underestimate or don't realise how strong they are. Dhruv Jurel and Padikkal have been picked ahead of a guy who averages 65 and has a test match 150. They still have Rohit and Gill to come in.

You just need to look at the players in the Duleep Trophy, most of whom are probably good enough to play test cricket, if not dominate it.

Yep, Gill and Rohit will walk right back in.

This will not happen. KLR will drop down the order.

At the end of the day if you are in day the top 50 players in your position out of a population of 1.4 billion. You are more likely gonna be better than your equivalent number in the pecking order in countries with far smaller populations which ofc makes NZ win even more impressive but I’m of the opinion that New Zealand maybe the best pound for pound overall sporting nation in the world with only Australia being able to challenge them really

That was a great win for the team. I feel an injured and underdog India always performs better.

Irrespective of his stature, I have never liked Rohit in tests and his return does not inspire confidence.

Also we were a little short on bowling. We need someone better compared to Reddy. Shami would have been solid.

Prasidh needs to come in next match since its Day Night game for Reddy and unfortunately Sharma for Devdutt and Gill for Jurel.

I would rather prefer young talent then carry Sharma’s weight. Hope his captaincy is top notch.
