Kinda of related but kinda of not. Don't the Black Caps usually have a match on Boxing day? The ones I remember are usually ODIs, this year they have nothing. Can't remember if they had one last year or the year before that but I know they had matches there. Its a shame as they should try and build up a tradition for Boxing Day ODI or even T20I.

We did have a boxing day test which was held at the Basin for quite a wee while, but that has been phased out and now we seem to play ODI's and 20/20's instead.
