Bring Back Duff

You are being too harsh, just like all the mods/admins.
Sort out what he was on about instead of getting rid of him! People can have opinions you know.
Of course they can, abd we're addressing the issues but there's a place to air them... if I was to stand outside work and criticise my bosses and workmates to anyone that walked past I'd be sacked as well, can you not see why it'd be hard for everyone else to work with him after being undermined like that?

You would still have the same argument you do now to back yourself with... it would cause mod bashing dont be foolish

Was he informed of this?

My god some of you lot are showing why the forum is in a downward spiral. He's been sacked and aint coming back. Get over it.

Not a good comparison, this is an online forum not a workplace!
So over 100 members all respect Duff, yet about 10 mods/admins don't like him so you get rid of him. Look at the bigger picture, this site is for the members as well as the staff. You are showing us a lack of respect by getting rid of our best mod for something trivial.

I'll just weigh in here by reminding you that it's about effectiveness not popularity. I'm sure many people would rather have Gordon Brown has PM rather than Steve Coppell. (bad example, I know)

thats the wrong attitude, because we believe someone has been unfairly treated because of underlying issues means we should just get over it and wait for it to happen to us

He went behind the the staff team's back and he got the sack for it. That's fair punishment. The sooner you understand that the better.

You lot to need to get over yourselves and stop wingeing about it. Your really making yourselves out as children here.

I don't think any admins have said that we don't like him.

Duff was an effective and good mod though. I think it's wrong that he has gone but I won't carry on about it.

The admins can do what they like, they always do.

i think he was tremendously effective but you lot are basing your arguments on how popular he is

I'm not seeing a huge difference, we're still working with him and if you can't see why going behind everyone's back and having a go at the rest of the staff and how the forum is run doesn't exactly help with trust in the future we're not going to agree- it's anything but trivial. The way you're reacting it's like we were hiding in the shadows with daggers waiting for any excuse to get rid of him so we could hold a giant party and celebrate, we don't hate him and nobody's happy with the way things turned out but there wasn't much option under the circumstances.

What exactly is the trust the admin/staff lost in him? Did he really show himself to be a bad moderator? Or is the PC moderation team hording large amounts of laundered money that they thought Duff would expose to the public?

Of course, the administration is well within their rights to do whatever they please because they pay for the hosting and bandwidth of this site. But I think the reason behind his staff position being taken away is spineless. It seems more of an angry reaction to what is indubitably the truth--I'm sure most people think they cannot "trust" him just because what he did just fueled a lot of pent-up feelings straight towards them, rather than a loss of trust that Duff will be able to perform his moderation duties.

but havent the staff now gone behind his back by doing this because i assume he wasnt informed because you keep avoiding my question ste and if you sink to his dirty filithy level then your just as bad

so you are in a corner now mate
