Three one hit wonders to start with.

Caretaker pick for @CerealKiller

:aus: :bwl: Glenn McGrath

563 wickets @ 21.64 (29 5WI, best 8/24) in 124 Test matches

I'm not sure whether @CerealKiller will appreciate my spending 29 more of his points here, but when one already has Warne, it seems natural to add "and McGrath" to that. McGrath's overall numbers are of course legendary, but they mask the absolute excellence of his (lengthy) peak: from the start of the 1996 Australian summer until he stepped on that ball at Edgbaston in 2005, McGrath took 430 of his Test wickets at just 19.92 apiece. Within that peak - far longer than most players' entire careers - were a few periods where McGrath would string together streaks of 50 or more wickets taken at an average of about 15. Even when he wasn't taking wickets, he was relentless: a career economy rate of under 2.5 was possible because he only once went for more than a run a ball in an innings.

:pak: :bwl: Mohammad Sami (0 points)
85 wickets @ 52.74 (2 5WI, best 5/36) in 36 Test matches
610 wickets @ 27.35 (32 5WI, best 8/39) in 179 first-class matches

There is no good reason why Mohammad Sami's Test career was so completely underwhelming: he was an aggressive bowler who would look for wickets and sometimes leak runs, but plenty of players have done all of those same things and been successful. Suffice to say, there's a reason why Pakistan's selectors kept going back to the well, even the previous however many times had gone poorly. And I'm going to do exactly the same thing: I'm going to back Sami's 150kph pace to take the important wickets my team needs.

One of the best bowling action IMO.

Javed Akhtar & Pankaj Singh for 0 tarrif points, they have only 3 test matches combined, irrespective of their good FC performance.

Javed Akhtar, off spinner, 187 wickets in 51 FC matches @18.21

Pankaj Singh, right arm pacer, 472 wickets in 117 FC matches @23.76

:ind: :bat: KC Ibrahim (1 point)
169 runs @ 21.12 (best 85) in 4 Test matches
4,716 runs @ 61.24 (14 centuries, best 250) in 60 first-class matches

KC Ibrahim never quite thrived at Test level despite a really strong start: on debut he made 85 in the first innings before being run out for 44 in the second, but unfortunately didn't quite manage to scale the same heights for the rest of that series. By the time the next Indian Test series rolled around, he had already relocated to Karachi and his stellar first-class career was done. At his best, he was unstoppable - quite literally in 1947, when he scored 709 runs to start the Ranji season before being dismissed. An absolute bargain at just one tariff point.
