Right, time for two overdue caretaker picks on behalf of @CerealKiller

:ind: :wk: Nayan Mongia (4 points)
1732929273439.png

107 dismissals (99 ct, 8 st) and 1,442 runs @ 24.03 (1 century, best 152) from 44 Test matches
396 dismissals (353 ct, 43 st) and 7,736 runs @ 38.48 (12 centuries, best 181) from 158 first-class matches

Nayan Mongia was a keeper's keeper, his glovework coming with the seal of approval from no less a judge than Alan Knott. However, his finest moment in Test cricket came as an opening batter: against Australia in Delhi, Mongia made a match-defining 152 that gave his country a match-deciding advantage against Australia. That was one of 24 times he performed such a double-role in Test cricket, something that I intend for him to do in CerealKiller's team.

:wi: :bwl: Nikita Miller (0)

0 wickets from 1 Test match
538 wickets @ 16.03 (35 6WI, best 9/41) from 100 first-class matches

The fact that Nikita Miller managed to play only one Test match is the worst kind of cricketing injustice. Despite being Jamaica's greatest ever spinner, he was never quite able to persuade the selectors that he was the one they wanted.

But he was the one they needed.

CerealKiller's XI so far:

Just BTW, as Aisy didn't actually tell him - @Till Valhalla Tristan Stubbs is invalid thanks to his two centuries hit since the release of the tariff document having raised his cost to at least 17

Adrian Kuiper (0) only played 1 test after South Africa’s readmission to the international fold. He was past his best then, hence his modest return. He fared better across 25 ODI, where his hard hitting and brisk medium swing was showcased better.

He is important for my side with his batting there to counter attack if we’re in trouble or press home any advantage we might have when he comes to the crease. His bowling, in tandem with Benaud’s spin, will be crucial to letting the fast bowlers rotate in short sharp bursts after the new ball.

@Aislabie is next

:nzf: :bwl: Jeetan Patel (3 points)
65 wickets @ 47.35 (1 5WI, best 5/110) in 24 Test matches
892 wickets @ 32.77 (38 5WI, best 8/36) and 6,695 runs @ 21.38 (3 centuries, best 120) in 293 first-class matches

Jeetan Patel was an absolute domestic giant who never quite showed his best at Test level - though most most of his career came before he truly hit his peak as a bowler. His final tally of 892 first-class wickets has the feel of being a number from a bygone age, and for Warwickshire his stats are even more extraordinary: 473 wickets @ 26.11 (25 5WI, best 8/36) - and it was during this time that he swore off international cricket. Patel narrowly beat out his namesake and compatriot Dipak to get into my team largely because of how excellent he became during his time at Warwickshire.

:aus: :bat: Alan Kippax fills everything I really need - bats four or five, costs 16 tariff, was insanely elite in the Shield, and no other disqualifying factors.
