I don't know if I am the only one having this problem, but why is it that it's so easy to get batsmen to average 50 plus, but when it comes to fast bowlers, I just struggle to find anyone who can consistently take wickets and average around 25 or even 30! I've played the game with Pakistan, India, SL, Eng for a while also, but I just never had a bowler who averaged less than 25 ever. Spinners are not a problem, only fast bowlers. Even when I see some screenshots of some records, they're generally with batsmen averaging quite a lot, but never for bowlers who might have a good average. I know with ENG you eventually get very good fast bowlers, but is there anyone who has played the game upto year 2020 or onwards with Pakistan or any other team and never struggled with fast bowlers, or is it just me?

i struggle to get any good batsmen or bowlers but lots of keepers...... work that one out anyway consider yourself lucky

yer i agree ive had trouble getting spinners and then all of a sudden.. i got like 5 so just wait . i got 1 hell good fast bowler called Horace Adey

For me it's good Fast bowlers and all-rounders that Yorks can't get. At the start of 2007, i got a promising keeper Derek Scargill who avgd 46 with a very aggressive batting style. After one season of technique coaching, he averages 42 in the second team. Hope he can go a long way.

Let's hope, with the 2007 season at the fag end for my team, i get some good youth for 2008.

I always get good openers and spinning all rounders which generally means I end up with 4/5 openers, 2/3 middler order, wickie, then the rest baring maybe one or two are all spin all rounders.

hows this a a gem of a young player, got a ten wicket match haul on debut against australia aswell

His bowling is brilliant, but I have to slyly snigger at those batting stats. No.11 I take it?

yeah, whatever gave you that idea?,but with bowling like that,he can do whatever he wants with the bat...
also one of 5 members of my lancashire side currently in the test team

offdriven, I have two teams that I play with online, and all my fast bowlers have played for ENG, their second team avegs are less than 10 with the ball, and ave 14-16 in FC. Problem with fast bowlers is when you play as some other side besides England, then whoever you pick, whatever their 2nd team average may be, they just struggle, obviously it will only happen to the team you're managing, other teams that the computer is managing they will still have good decent fast bowlers. I never bother with training because whenever I pick a spinner with good FC record, he'll do pretty well in test matches and ODIs without training, same with batsmen, but never fast bowlers even on bowler friendly pitches. I'm talking about on normal difficulty, maybe it's easier to get fast bowlers on easy.

One thing i always find - when ever you look at players stats, they might have gotten 100+ wickets in there previous season, but if you get them they only ever seem to get 40 or so wickets at an average of 25'ish. Its soo annoying if you pay good money for them.

training is always helpful, many times a year or two of technique training has turned a usefu bowler (mid 20s avge.) into a world beater, but i see where your coming from(i think) in that it does appear that England seems to only country on the game that churns out top class quicks

has anyone every had someone with a poor second record turn into a regular member of their team

Yep i've had afew, for instance i'll buy a good young player, play them in afew game's and they do really bad, only getting say 1/140 etc.. or 20 or below on both games/innings, so i play them in my 2nd XI for half the season or the full season with bowling/batting technique and when i bring them back into my team to see if they have improved, they actually do quite well. ;)
