Career Mode Talk

Just had a major bug issue in a 50 over club match. Rain stopped play with the other team needing 10 runs from 45 balls after play resumed. I finished my over and they needed 5 runs. Then another rain delay and next thing it said was my team won by 211 runs on D/L!

When i tried to progress the game crashed (blue error screen). After I reloaded the game i was back blowing again this time they needed 40 runs! At the end of the over the same rain delay again and another crash!

This happens 3 times before I finally managed to finish the game and return to the career mode main page. Btw this was while recording an episdoe for YT! :mad

I don't want to be harsh on Big Ant because they are trying and the game is still their best version yet but we shouldn't have so many issues with a brand new game that's just been released.

Anyone got any tips getting wickets? Wrist spin bowler and whilst I can keep runs low I can't get wickets. As a result I can't seem to improve my bowling.

I had I think 18 wickets in my first club season as a wrist spinning batting all rounder. You should be able to pick up at least one or two in each game.

First....put bowling on easy. Will let you get ideal input more easily while you improve. Do you use classic controls?

Second, change the pitch conditions occasionally. By default all career club games are on very slow grassy pitches. Play a few on Dusty hard or medium pitches for more spin friendly conditions.

Bowling legspin...early on in your career your player wont have much turn, so bowl straight. I picked up wickets by bowling on a full or good length on around middle stump. A few lbw and bowled, focus on bowling good leg breaks, if they miss you hit! Don't mess around with googlies and sliders at this stage.

A short leg is also worth considering. I have had a couple of bat pads.

Spend your skill points on turn and on your leg break to begin with. Don't worry about other skills for now, and assign perks that improve turn as well.

If you still struggle lower AI striker timing.

Playing a career mode with England. Still at club level. In my selection status I can't see Pakistan Premier league, Australian t20, Caribbean league etc. If I start a new career mode all the above are available. Can someone tell me why this is and how to resolvei t?

Am I being a thick idiot or is there now no way to see how other leagues/international teams doing throughout the year? I enjoyed having a nose at how the international squads and games were going in previous additions...

Happened to me, when I started a new season they showed up

Decided to test out the theory of low scores consistently in long form games of career mode. To test this out I decided to start a star player career mode as Joe Root in the county circuit.

My theory was proved right as in my first game for Yorkshire we played against Somerset who were bowled out for 21 in their first innings! We then went on to declare at 4/292 and bowl them out again for 90 in their 2nd innings to win by an innings and 181 runs! This is the only major issue I have with the game so far, it's extremely unrealistic with consistently low scores, I looked at the other games in the round and there was only one score above 300 with majority between 100-200 with multiple scores even below 100. Hope this is fixed because it makes long format games in career mode broken. Hopefully it's not the same with international test cricket! I also noticed in another game Faulkner coming in for Lancashire at No.11 despite being an all-rounder he was coming in after the bowlers like Anderson, Parkinson etc.

First county game of the season, you'll be playing on unmowed grass haha

Seemed like an unrolled pitch too, obviously the poor fella couldn't push three pitch rollers across the pitch by himself hahaha. Bowlers paradise, saw quite a few fifers too!

Just simulated a competition to see if the scores were any different and they were pretty much the same so I don't think this issue is in career mode, think it's just a general simulation issue with long format games. Even if I maxed out the bowlers batting skills they would pretty much all get ducks every match, every innings. For example a team would go from like 5/135 to all out for 140 because No.8 to No.11 all got ducks, hattricks and even double hattricks occur regularly. This concerns me so hope it does get fixed, I've heard others mention it before anyway with the club 3-Day games, teams consistently get bundled out for shocking scores and the tail never sticks around. Even the top order falters regularly, normally it's only one partnership that does well and everyone else does shocking causing a horrible collapse.

Hello plz Guide

I started career with Indian domestic player as batsman
After playing two season i got selected for zonal level
Meanwhile i have updated Indian Zonal Team created by wasteyouryouth
But when i started my first Zonal match in career mode then in line up i am seeing only old team/player names originaly (disc)created by Big ant not the teams updated and linked with academy created teams.

Guys does the line ups in career mode change regularly like Ashes ? If yes then does the line ups have unknown players ? Does the side batting second chases scores like 300+ in 20-25 overs in Ashes regularly. Because i don't want to spend almost 4k rupees. I bought Ashes and got so irritated with this in career mode in Ashes and had to give it back.

Thanks for this , very interesting and confirms my experience , as a work around , not simming and watching from non strikers end does create a few partnerships but requires a lot of patience , which I don;t usually have !

The game is excellent , a big step up from Ashes

I’m in my 5th season of career mode now and can confirm this is the number one glaring issue in an otherwise reasonably sound mode. I’m still playing first class cricket for the Western Warriors. Never seen the AI score over 400 when simulating to my career player. Seen team totals of 50 or less approximately 25 times - all in 3 day or 4 day games. One dayers and t20 simulated scores are realistic, if anything a tad favouring high scores.

Other more prominent and noticeable issues affecting my gaming experience are coming in to bat with my team around the same score every time (4/100 give or take 20 runs). Occasionally there are horrible low scoring matches from both sides where I’ll come into bat at something ridiculous like 4/10.

Also, the AI won’t bowl a certain type of bowler sometimes. Played back to back shield matches against NSW and Nathan Lyon didn’t bowl a single over. Not one. This is arguably the best spinner in the Southern Hemisphere keep in mind.
