Caribbean Premier League 1-3

Yay! what a breathtaking match. The Wolves really gave us a tough time with the ball but except for their local bowlers no one really did the damage to us. Really happy with Chanderpaul playing an all important innings that was required from him and it couldn't have come at a better time. Sachin and Deonarine also made healthy contributions with the bat. Really happy with my team's performance overall.

Tough luck to Varun hope he can turn the tables next time. :thumbs

Puneeth did really well with the league management. I enjoyed alot being a part this looking forward to the next season (if any). :)

Great league Puneeth, although a couple of the ratings might have been slightly strange (Steve Finn?). :thumbs

Guyanese Gladiators - Team Review

- Won the title
- Sachin Tendulkar the real star
- Overseas players performed really well
- Locals players played their part(specially Permaul, Chandepaul and Edwards)
- Sanga's captaincy made a positive impact on the team
- Performance was up & down in a couple of games but there were also a lot of positives to take from the games

Sachin Tendulkar (10/10) - As I said before, this man was the real star the highest run scorer of the season and also the only player to score two centuries. His performance was upright thoughout the season and his 118 in the qualifying stage made us through to the final, he also made a half century in the Grand final which helped us in the claiming the title.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul (9/10) - Played the all important role of a middle order batsman. This man scored a lot of runs in crucial times for us. Led the batting unit with great responsibility. But his all important innings for 99* in the Grand final which was the actual reason for the Galdiators claiming the title will be ever remembered.

JP Duminy (1/10) - This man didn't get a single game due to reasons. The experience that was needed by the side was provided by the star batsman Sachin Tendulkar and the captain himself Kumar Sangakkara, hence his services were not needed for the season.

Kumar Sangakkara (8/10) - Had a poor start. But then he started making runs in a large number his innings of 103 against the Wolves in the start of the season nearly got us to victory. Led from the front in the entire season. He played really well throughout and at the end led his side to glory.

Kirk Edwards (7/10) - Was a really good add to the lineup. One of the only openers in the side. When he was given a chance to open ahead of Brathwaite he made sure that he is upto the task. Scored runs in nearly all the matches his highest score of 85 came against the Jamaica Jaws in which he made a opening stand of 148 alongwith Sachin, the team won the match at the end.

Morne Morkel (7/10) - . Was called into the side ahead of Johnson. Did really well in the start but couldn't carry on. Bowled a brilliant spell in the opening game of the season. His role in the side was really important but sadly he didn't perform as well as was expected from him.

Graeme Swann (8/10) - One of the leading wicket takers in the side. Bowled some really good spells and also got the team crucial breakthroughs in times. Always made the batsmen struggle for runs. But sadly he also couldn't finish aswell as was expected.

Veerasammy Permaul (9/10) - A great domestic talent. Took wickets in a large number in nearly all the games we played. he performed much more than was expected from his side and also played the role of a front line spinner ahead of Swann. Really a player to have in your side.

Narsingh Deonarine (9/10) - Did exactly what was needed from him. Played the role of a lower middle order batsmen and also scored the winning runs alongwith Chanderpaul in the Grand Final. Also bowled really well as a part time spinner.

Others - Also played a very important part to get us this far. Many thanks to the services of Mitchell Johnson Liam Sebastian and Sherwin Ganga who also played really good cricket.

Guyanese Gladiators (10/10) - Performance always seemed upto the mark. The team lost a couple of games in the middle but than carried on with the winning ways. All the players were outstanding and can not expect much more from a team!

Puneeth (15/10) - Great league management, made the league really entertaining, the rating was good aswell as the presentation, played his role in completing the season even when he was busy with life, it feels really good to be a part of this league and have Puneeth as a manager. :)

What a final! 270 is a competitive score but strong batting line-up of Guyana did it for them. Congrats Guyana and Wolves, you were very good as well but unfortunately, fell short. By the way, do try sending Floyd Reifer at 6 as I think Hussey, Ganga and Hinds are better batsmen that Reifer in my opinion.

Now I'm blinking and lazy to reply to all the posts.

Thanks Dipak, Author, Prithvi, Fenil and others for following this. Great review there Dipak and Ahmad, thanks for the compliment. :)

Hey guys. Do we need a season II of the league? If yes, then suggestions please.

Suggestion:

1 Make it a ten round league. Five rounds are too less

2 Graeme Swann should be rated at least 50 with the bat and not more than 15 with the ball.

1. Looks good.

2. Only, if Swann will be in my team.

I'll continue.
