Champions League Thread (the dawn of time - 2014)

At the end of the day, at least this whole situation finally clarifies that Gerrard is diving scum. Yet Liverpool fans still find the time to slag off Ronaldo for it.

Steven Gerrard - "I don't think there's anything worse than a player diving when no one's been anywhere near him. It does ruin the game. If I saw a team-mate doing it, I would definitely have a word" (The Daily Mail, April 1st 2006)

Time to have a word, hypocrite.

ITV let it go pretty lightly as well, imagine if that had been a United player, especially Ronaldo?

Liverpool, with all this luck are only managing to draw CL games.

to be fair they did have a legitimate penalty appeal turned down earlier but that was out of order...a complete and utter dive:eek:

Who cares? Point is Atletico did not win. Their team is filled with cheats and robbers and criminials and utter scum. Well done Liverpool and well done Gerrard.

Must admit though that Maxi's goal was insane!

They wouldn't have dealt with it any differently.

Are you really that stupid? Of course they would. There wasn't even a mention of the word dive when it's one of the most blatant dives you'll see. No doubt if Ronaldo had done it they would have done it to restart their hate campaign against him. But godforbid someone criticises Liverpool, if you do then you'll just get boycotted. Pathetic.

Does Asian Champions League count in this thread? :p

The first time an Aussie is in this league, the first time an Aussie is in the final.

Go Adelaide United. Beat those Japanese. Bring it home for the Aussies.

well looks like adabeyor, walcott, eboue and gallas are out with the long-term absentees still out...might give chance to some younger players e.g. vela and ramsey to impress...still expect a easy victory tbh

The Turks are a bunch of cheating, diving scum, which is why no-one in football likes them.

Average from us. Still unbeaten in the champions league. Not lost since Milan 2007 iirc. Hopefully will finish top, Villareal away will be tough though.

Attacking players were alright, Berbatov offered us a better attack but I would of kept Nani on, I thought he did alright. Rooney needs to get a goal again though, just to get him back going again after he lost it at Everton and has been rested. Hopefully he'll get one V Arsenal, he likes playing against them. Defence looked a bit shaky at times too but hopefully confidence will be back up after playing with 3 at the back for ages.
