Champions League Thread (the dawn of time - 2014)

loving liverpools tactics, hoof it up to Torres :p

Kuyts crap. Still they've had some good chances but so have Inter. Next goal decides the tie for me.

The refs that have reffed the Liverpool Inter games have been quite frankly useless. Matorazzi shouldn't have been dismissed, and Burdisso certainly shouldn't either, now he is trying to redeem himself by giving Inter everything. Spoilt the game.

in the premiership he could have easily ended up with no cards but when the lucks on your side your going to win.

Not that Liverpools win was just luck, as crappy football as they played it worked and Torres' goal was class, the better side over 2 even if they did have a bit of help. Wouldn't mind getting them if the first leg was at their place though.

Awful refereeing in both ties, neither red cards should have been. However, what can we expect when our refs are just as incompetent at home.

Joe, you're being far too positive towards the dipper scum, I want them in the next round so that we can knock them out of what is apparently 'their' competition. I dont trust anyone else to knock them out, they get damn luck in Europe every single year. Lets take the bindipping *******s at Old Trafford.

So, Champions League draw tomorrow, I'm looking forward to it. The only team I would have some fear in playing is Barcelona, but even for them Messi is out. I'd love to get the bindippers, so we could knock them out of 'their' cup, that would be amazing. I don't fear Chelski or Arsenal over two legs and nor do I fear Schalke, Roma or Fenerbache. Watch the bindippers get Schalke or Fenerbache.

Roma vs United
Schalke Vs Barcelona
Arsenal vs Dippers
Fenerbache vs Rent Boys

Semi final:

Schalke/Barcelona vs Roma/United
Arsenal/Dippers vs Fenerbache/Rent Boys

Interesting draw, it probably means if we're going to win it, it'll be in an all-english final. I trust Arsenal to knock the dippers out, and although it'll be far closer than last year, I think we can beat Roma. You'd expect Barca to beat Schalke, which if we win, would set up a possible thriller between us and Barca. Could be the 4th year in a row where an English team gets to a final.

This is really weird, take a look at this from dipper fans:

We get Roma and as there at home first leg and we got a draw there with the reserves, despite their convincing win over Madrid I'd back us. Won't be tough after the way we murdered them last year and I feel they are capable of pulling off an upset and going on a good run but I think we'll do it. IF we win then we have Barca or Schalke, with the second leg at home again so I'd make us favourites for that game, as good as Barca are attackingly Henrys not the same, nor's Ronaldhino, Messi's out? and Eto'o is brilliant. We can deffo beat them anyway especially if we go and get a result at their place.

Arsenal/Liverpool, I make Liverpool favourites however Arsenal could do it. Chelsea will play the winner so it's a potential Liverpool-Chelsea semi AGAIN.

I knew it was a fix!!!

I knew Chelsa would get Fernebache but I did not expect Liverpool. Gerrard could do us as he always seems to but if we control him and Torres, we're through. I'm glad we're at home. If we can manage a clean sheet win to take it to Anfield, we'll definitely be favourites but Liverpool are such a cup team. Then again, they have to outplay us twice and I don't see that happening.

I back Man U to beat Roma as they're not that strong.

Chelsea will go out :p but Barca will ease through.

Manure should really beat Roma easy. Pure luck and stupidity from Madrid saw the Romans qualify for the last eight and I dont think they'll ride that luck again.

Chelsea should also beat Fenerbache easy, we could have another repeat of Olympiakos where we draw (or lose by a single goal) the away game and win the home fixture convincingly.

Barca might actually struggle against Schalke as they are not playing well at all at the moment, and apart from a few games, really played crap this season. But I think they'll do just enough to beat the Germans.

I think the final will be between Manure and Arsenal/Liverpool (cant pick a winner here as Liverpool are the kings of knockout fixtures while Arsenal are probably the best team in Europe at the moment). Although I would love to have Chelsea-Barca.

If it is true then its very worrying. Makes you look back at previous draws in a new light that's for sure.

All record of previous CL Winners should be scrapped and start anew.

Kev, I always thought Chelsea getting Barca 2 CLs in a row was fishy and the prospect of yet another Pool-Chelsea SF. I hope it was lucky or Uefa will have some questions to answer.

Liverpool could play Chelsea in 4th semi final in 4 years (Fa cup in 06 included), also played them in Champions league group stage in the year where we could play an English team, which is downright dodgy.
