Champions League Thread (the dawn of time - 2014)

I don't think many threads saying about a fixed draw come up.
Maybe after a cup draw, when fans feel bitter than they were drawn against a strong side, but to post of a fixed draw, post as if passing on information rather than a prediction and get every fixture correct before the draw is more than simply a lucky guess.

There are tons. Every draw on red issue the man united forum you'll get at least 2 or 3 before it.

Well it takes a bit more than some guesswork and a convincing sounding post to get past D.I Joe. It would have helped had he actually had nay worthwhile info other than what the teams were going to be and there would be far too little evidence ot actually prove anything.

Think about this way - he heard the information from somewhere and probably the original source made a guess which in this case turned out to be a lucky one.

Look, maybe the draw is fixed, but we dont know for sure. I am sure if it is then someone from the inside will spill the beans sooner rather than later, so until that happens, let us just assume that everything is fair.

By the way I had a dream last night that Schalke reach the final this year but lose to Arsenal on penalties. Hopefully its just a dream though. (Since I also saw Henry play for Arsenal in that same dream)

They tend to say the draw is fixed, but they dont say who will get who, they'd look foolish if they did and they got it wrong.

And in other news, Sky have won all television rights to Champions League from years 2009-12, except the Wednesday first choice game. That has been opened up to a second round of bidding, with the BBC first choice to get it. It is possible for Sky to win this too, but it is thought that UEFA wish to maintain a presence on FTA.

The problem is for BBC, Vodafone, Ford and the like sponsor the Champions League and so want their name plastered about all over the place, obviously BBC aren't commercial so they don't have adverts. I'd prefer BBC or ITV to get the other game over sky, if sky get that, only a couple of fa cup games and a couple of england games are on live terrestrial tv.

The BBC can show that the event is sponsored, though not the programme itself. Therefore a sting before handing over to the commentators (for example) with the sponsor's name on is fine - it's just the break bumpers that aren't...

Well there won't be any ad breaks if the beeb get it, so there won't be any problems ;)

ITV got it. BBC chose F1 instead I guess because they didn't bid at all.

I could see Barca going out to Schalke looking at how awful their defence has been.

yep barca team camestry is down too henry is not playing in his positon and the manager is under pressure too. man u all the way to championship glory!!!!!!!!!1

I hate both teams

Man U 0-0.5 Roma

boring bla bla.

Hopefully Man Utd will win 1-0 or come away with a 0-0 draw so they can set it up for the game at Old Trafford.

Hopefully Gerrard can show his class on wednesday!
