Cheap laptop - non gaming.

Hi there.

My nephew is looking for a cheap laptop for internet surfing mainly. It doesn't need to be good for modern games. Any suggestions? I don't understand about laptop CPUs, so I can't tell which ones to go for.

Less than ?300 would be good.

Can you do with a netbook? For a small summary, they're normally under 10" laptops, with no optical drives, generally great battery life, low pricetag, light weight and not so great performance(Intel Atom CPU's, mainly for internet surfing).

Sounds ok, apart from the fact it has no DVD Rom drive.
