Sorry got the match wrong... It was Eng vs South Africa Test match.
Sunil Gavaskar: Stuart Broad plays 'cowardly cricket' - Times Online

When Stuart Broad was asked about his behavior he responded : "I'm just very passionate to win games for my country. Sometimes when things don't go my way I'll get a little bit narky, but I don't see that as a huge problem."

This is a stupid comment from the England all-rounder-in-the-making. It suggests to any reader that Broad is claiming some sort of special status - does Broad really think that nobody else is "very passionate to win games for my country"? Really? Is every other cricketer who behaves like a grown-up a fool to stay within the rules?

Still his father wasn't the match referee. You made it out as though his father was the match referee and he'd been favouring which simply isn't true.

Broad wasn't suggesting that he is special because he's passionate he was merely explaining why he gets so "narked" with the umpires at times.

I also highly doubt that the umpires are in anyway swayed by the fact that he's the son of Chris. I doubt that the match referees ever seen each other that often so why they'd favour him is beyond me.

I don't wanna start a race-debate but why players like ponting gets away most of the time while a sub-continent player doing the same mistake gets a hefty fine or ban at least.

They don't.

Same reason why Amir hasn't had a a hefty fine or ban for running into Ponting and Clarke. And why both he and Ponting where warned after their incident and told to calm down.

Sachin got banned for removing the dirt from the seam of the ball, 4 other indian players were also banned in that match. What for, over-appealing. Remember Mike Dennise

Yeah that pretty much means the ICC, currently being run by Pawar, are racist towards subcontinent teams.

ICC doesn't sit in match referee's room with a stick. They cannot control match referee's decisions. You are making it sound as if Sharad Power gives his yes or no for every ban or fine:laugh

The umpires are on the ICC Elite list its them who oversea what they do.

The umpires and match referees do have the performances evaulated they don't just go around banning Subcontinental players.

They do fine them and nobody raises a question if they had'nt banned or fined a certain English or Aussi player. Only if someone is banned then the question is raised. So they can keep on fining sub-continent players for dissent and let other go with a slap on the wrist

They aren't!

Broad has had fines within the last year, as has Strauss, Collingwood and Monty Panesar and I'm pretty sure that Ponting was banned a bit back for slow over rates.

The match referees aren't racist nor biased.

Slow over rates cannot be ignored they are counted. Tell me when was the last time ponting got banned or got a fine over a dispute with umpires or his sledging?

I don't really follow Australian international cricket but I'm sure that there have been a few players who've got fines and bans within the last years.

Ponting was fined for swearing during the 05 Ashes. Monty Panesar was fined and docked half his match salary for overappealing aswell.

If you have a search they'll be others aswell.

Themer added 3 Minutes and 22 Seconds later...

Just to add to that Scott Sytris and Mitchell Johnson were fined earlier this year aswell. Had a bit more rummaging and Katich was also banned in the same test as Ponting 05 for openly disagreeing with the umpires.

Michael Vaughan was fined in 2005 for disagreeing with the umpires decision to take play off due to bad light against South Africa. Kevin Pietersen was fined in a match against India for showing excessive displeasure at an umpires decision in 2006. Jimmy Anderson was fined after an incident with Runako Morton in 2007 against the West Indies. There's also Benn who was banned just the other day as well so to say that they only fine and ban subcontinental players is wrong.

This level of display shown by Insomniac and AngryPixel here is absolutely appalling. AngryPixel in particular, do you have any clue at all what you are talking about?

Just found another: Johnson and Haddin were fined after an incident with Benn during a test last year by Chris Broad and Benn banned for one test or two ODIs.

Edit: Found another two Kieron Pollard was fined for blocking the bowlers path earlier this year and Brad Haddin was fined for dissent during the Twenty20 World Cup Final.

Edit: Watson was fined for an incident during the Test Series in the West Indies last year.

Edit: Kyle Mills last year for breaching the ICC code against Pakistan in an ODI match.

And I must say there hasn't been a single fine or ban given to a subcontinental player since at least December unless for slow over rates which I'm not counting or from their own teams/IPL.
