One more fact I noticed.
When the runout bug happens the non-striker who earlier moves towards the striker's end puts his bat back in the crease and you think that they won't run. Then, they start running thereafter.
Perhaps I can infer that running b/n wickets of CPU is excellent. But, as this nonsense happens some time is wasted and running b/n wicket of CPU becomes nonsense.
If by hex editing the cricket 2004.exe file we can clear that step run out bug will disappear.
